a screenshot of the multi-tool tech would help
But IMO blaze javelin it's not worth installing anyway a it takes way too long to charge. I'd rank it as the worst choice.
I have an upgrade for my blaze javelin that stuns things it hits. VERY useful for fighting sentinel walkers. I destroy their support units first (while staying out of the walker's range) then stunlock it do death. I do agree though that for general combat/damage it's not the best.

Here is the screenshot, I don't get what you meant by core module or just upgrade?
What you have installed isn't the blaze javelin itself but an upgrade for the blaze javelin, so the core module isn't there. It would be like downloading a videogame mod for a game you don't have installed; it's taking up space, but doesn't have the core piece to actually interact with.
Here is one of my multitools without the javelin installed. See the pop up screen that has install technology? Blaze Javelin is in that section waiting to be installed. That will give you access to the weapon.
You have a B upgrade installed You need to open up more slots on your multitool, in order to have both the weapon and that upgrade you installed.

You'll also notice that on wahl35's screenshot, they have grouped their tech next to each other so mining laser upgrades are next to the Mining Laser, scanner upgrades are next to the scanner. This is called the Adjacency bonus, and each tech gets an increase when adjacent.
You also have a neutron cannon upgrade (the furthest right slot) that is wasting space at the moment, since you have no neutron cannon installed either.
You can package these upgrades to save them for later, or scrap them now for quick and easy materials.
Thanks for the help, do you meant the " A" & "S" grouping together to get the bonus?

Store or scrap the Neutron Cannon upgrade.
Move the Analysis visor to its empty spot.
Move the S class scanner upgrade to the newly emptied spot
Move the mining laser down to that empty spot.
Move the S class canner upgrade over to slot 1.
Now you'll have an empty slot next to your Blaze Javelin upgrade ready to install your Blaze Javelin and all your other tech will be getting adjacency bonuses.
