Theoretically you could meet up in the late game when you're close to the centre of the universe, if you picked a solar system that's known in Atlus but that would still be really hard for the other person to find.
I remember reading that there may be plans later for something to do with multiplayer, but they were side stepping that subject.
Which is cool. There's enough multiplayer games, so it's nice to see single player being the focus of the game.
huh? Given the developer has sidestepped every single question relating to "Can I meet up with my friends?", I think it's safe to assume this is a singleplayer game in which the multiplayer component is the discovery sharing and visited systems log.

But yea, I am not expecting multiplayer, but I would not be suprised if they improve the multiplayer experience somewhat.
You're assuming the centre of the universe is one place like a space station. If you put 1000 people spread out on the moon, they wouldn't be able to see each other. This game is very, VERY big.
