just wait for the next discount if you dont like to spend 60 bugs.
i think i payed like 24,90 or similar...
you could check out YT-videos 1st if you just think about to buy nms.
those videos will show you the best way how BIG nms is in 2022...
btw ... ive since bought it for the xbox too, but havent had time to play it there yet ;-)
Still though, games have got more expensive over time. Part of that is the inability to get second hand games any more though. But back in the early 90s I remember the most expensive games being around £30 brand new... and I could get them for under £10 if I found used copies.
On the flipside, now we have Steam Sales... but still, I'd be wary of any game with a "60" against it
Not that those amounts of money mean as much to me now as when I was a kid back in the 90s. I still refuse to pay over £20 for most games though.
Increasing the price of games due to mismanagement while cost of production is rapidly on the decline says otherwise. So many more tools to not have to build from the ground up, no discs to deal with, distribution is outsourced most of the time. The $70 AAA increase has no grounds when we're still being served platters full of ♥♥♥♥ and expected to keep paying for DLC for the next few years while they get the game up to par.
NMS is not part of the above rant... but AAA games. Hello Games is still considered Indie. NMS made enough off their launch and multiple soft relaunches that they could live well for decades not to mention the health of the community and how overly abundant their support is. It's all well deserved, look at my game hours, but that is why Sean can confidently say all they're working for the near future is NMS. And now the next big project. There's a reason why NMS is considered one of the best come backs ever.
Complaints against AAA devs/publishers and the price increase are well founded especially when every game coming out also has manipulative cash shops and battle passes which have all been normalized... mainly due to apologists saying it's ok.
same here...
but now i buy often games with the steam-discount i never play, just thinking i could play them some day ;-)
in queue: cyber punk, red dead redemption, age of empires IV, and and and... and i still have new games in my wishlist ;-)
back to the original post...
after playing nms more than 340 hours i still not would pay 60 (because i dont like a lot of things in nms).
im happy YT is there, so i often check out playthroughs from different games, to imagine its worth to buy for me or not.
You like to work for free and without any pay, yes?
Only small parts of it are 6 years old, large parts are 2021/2022.
Exactly. In the early 90's, I was still playing console games, which were about $30, roughly $60.00 today.
And while console games had a hardware cost back then, there was no possibility of a software upgrade back then.
The amount of upgrades that NMS has given me for free is the thing that most perplexes me now.
The game goes on sale frequently for 50% off so most new players only pay $30.
