Expedition 3: how to get the Magnetic Resonator ?

Its needed for the spaceship, to make it fly again, and the blueprint of the MR is offered as a reward, problem is, the milestone wants me to analyze 18 minerals and i found actually 12 of them, so 6 missing. Are there 18 minerals on the starter planet ?
And if not, how can i get the MR then ?

There are more than 25 minerals on the starter planet. Spots to look at, aside from normal, open spaces, are:

• tops of the low hills that have no grass, usually dark-gray soil/rock - it has 3 types not found anywhere else, always
  
• Underground - one cobalt stalactite, one cobalt stalagminte and up to 3 other rocks, usually found even outside of caves
  
• underwater - there's plenty there. If you can't find any more in the shallow waters, go deep. Or use a scanner to find underwater caves (sometimes scanner will show some treasures under the sea bed, that's where you need to dig to dig if there's no entrance in sight).
  
• also underwater - if you find an abyssal horror, not the eye on the stick but the alluring specimen, it is also a mineral. It might count towards the 18 you need.

One way to find a cave is to scan for Humming Sac or Subterranean Relic - they are always in or right next to a cave.

depending on the starting location on the planet you may be cursed with blocked off caves and shallow puddles of water, preventing things from generating. so u may have to explore a while to get a deep underwater cave segment where many more minerals spawn

It was not that worse, around 2000 units i had to run until i got the rest of the minerals, as you said on those blank hill tops and 2 then in an underwatercave. Actually flying around and on the way to the space station:)

Find a secure building, make it somewhat less secure, learn component.

And since I couldn't be bother looking for those last few rocks, always a challenge that, fly to another planet in the system and scan rocks there.
