How do I make Carbon Nanotubes ?

I've just started the game and was enjoying it up to now but I need Carbon nanotubes to build a Terrain Manipulator . I have over 400 units of Carbon and the same in condensed Carbon so I have a lot of Carbon but the portable refiner isn't giving me the option of making Carbon nanotubes. When ever I enter the Carbon into the machine it automatically wants to make condensed Carbon nothing else. When I enter condensed Carbon the machine automatically wants to turn it back to Carbon. I'm not being given the option to make nanotubes. Obviously I've missed something so can someone tell me how to make these damned nanotubes before I burst a blood vessel. I would have thought that when you enter the required materials at one end I would be given various options as to what I want produced at the other end of of the refiner but I'm not getting the option to make nanotubes. HELP.

press left mousebutton in one of the empty "boxes" of your inventory/suits storage or spaceships storage if close to it
a window should open that shows all you can create then

I may be wrong but I think the blue print would be available from the Anomaly kiosks on the first floor of the Anomaly. You can purchase many blueprints there using nanites.

Blueprints are also found for free from raiding Manufacturing buildings on planets, revealed by using the signal booster or using maps from the space station cartographer or using exocar scanners. You can also scan the horizon with the visor to reveal buildings. If you don't have the blueprint many space stations and locations on planets with trade terminals often sell them. There are two kiosks on every space station either side. Also landing NPC pilots occasionally sell them.

I thought though the carbon nano tubes was an item from the start of the game every player needs. Without checking visit the Anomaly but also check carefully the items you can craft. You may already have the blueprint. It can be easy to miss. Good luck!
