Where does campaign progression start after you finish an Expedition?

I just finished my first ever expedition (yay) and now am able to visit the Anomaly. What happens now? Kind of happy with the ship I've ended up with everything so thinking about dropping my initial save and going forward with this Expedition version instead.

nothing, you are done and free to explore, but the main quest lines are broken sadly even though they show up

They are?

They aren't broken they just pop up differently from the normal game play because they aren't necessary to progress from an expedition save.

you cant do the artimas quest line till the 5 weeks is over from what i am told that means no base quest or getting your npc base characters

So that means there's no chance I can move on with the Expedition save then? I have a "Find Artemis" quest that I could try and follow.

what do you mean pop up differently? the artemis questline leads to nowhere while the atlas quest line just re-directs you to starsystems with NO atlas in them. meaning, broken. they shouldnt even show up in the first place but i bet hellogames couldnt program around that

I couldn't play yesterday. But the log for the Nexus just started mentioning Atemis in my Expedition save. I'll report back on it. But till it pops up for you, there are plenty of things you can do in the save till then. No matter what, the Artemis story can't start the same in the Expedition save as it does in the normal save.

In a normal save, the Artemis story is the beginning of the game. We've skipped all of that in the expedition. In Expedition 2 I was just flying through space when Artemis contacted me. I don't know how it will be in the Expedition 3 save. You just keep going till you are contacted.

I have all the normal quests (artemis, atlas, base, dreams of the deep) in my expedition save, but I've only started the dreams of the deep so far. I assume you can go through them all if you want to, but, of course, they're not necessary for progression anymore, since you can buy all the plans.

I just went back. The Artemis quest has not started for me yet but I'm certain it will any jump now.

Will do. I've got a few household things to do first. But I'm going to teleport back to the starter base and then go to space and jump to see if that triggers it. So far, I've just been teleporting back and forth. The starter planet could be the trigger.

The save will be then converted to normal game, so maybe then the mission trigger wil be set.
Also, some people say, that the old Expeditions saves are somewhat "messed up" during this Expedition, so maybe there is some conflict between active Expeditions and normal games on the Expedition saves, when they are still on...

You could be right but Faceplant says he has the event in his Expedition save.

I've been playing it quite a bit, and it seems like each one just showed up somewhere along the line, but I don't remember when or where. Some of it may have been interacting with Nada/Polo. I've been getting black hole coordinates quite often.
