Electric wires?!?
What is going on with these things. I did the walls to stretch the limits so I can actually connect a power grid to my extractors. The issue is that the power lines simply fail half the time. I have the blue bar lined going fine, then will run a connection that turns red. Then I go back to the previous one and cant build any power off of it. Its like it goes for a while and the line just dies. I have rebuilt the whole connection, and BOOM, somewhere else along the line, its just stops working again.
I have found notes on this issue since 2019. Are the devs so incompetent that they cant even bother to fix a known issue? What the freaking point of having power spots 900 meters from gas spots KNOWING that your base layout refuses to allow one supporting the other if its over 400 meters. This is freaking insane..... cant they bother to fix an issue or do they just not care anymore? Pathetic of them to be completely honest. With a stupid distance setup denying a decent base layout combined with the power being so broken, how do they expect you to do a freaking thing?

Does ANYONE know how to make the power cables actually attach from long distances where I dont have disconnects every 3 freaking connections. Clearly the Devs could give a crap about something that makes the game playable, but maybe someone else has an idea that they could maybe take not of.

I have been working on this S class oxygen farm for 3 hours now, but god himself couldnt get these dumb cables to do their job.

There is no explaining or modding, or "let me help you" out of a game thats core design is so flawed it cant even function properly. All the clear signs of horrible management and game creation, period. Especially after over 3 years of the same issue. They could have paid a brand new person to come in, learn their entire way of creating the game, and have them fix it in the amount if time its taken. Clearly they have no idea how to fix their own game
the "let me help you" was because you are stretching those cables beyond their limit.
So I am 100% clear, the game can not handle a power cable going more that 3 meters or even 1 metes is that what you are trying to tell me? Let me state this clearly:

I can have a battery, hooked to my power setup, attempting to act as a bridge since every power cable is virtually broken. When taking a power cable from (in this case) a battery, the cable will not go 50, 25, 10, 5,3, or even 1 meter without it showing as red, meaning no power. So you mean to tell me that stretching a power cable from a functioning batter more than or up to 1 meter is stretching it further than their limit?

Are you sure everything you are trying to connect is considered part of the same base? What you describe is what happens when you connect things that are not.

Pointless, im seriously debating about just deleting if its this horribly made.

how do you even take a screen shot in this stupid game. It says something about options and there is supposed to be a photo mode, but surprise, that looks like its not true either?
Jaggid Edje Jun 19, 2022 @ 5:30am
Photo mode is available in the same menu as everything else (default key X".

It's a Steam game though, which means you do not need to use photo mode to take a screenshot. F12 works, just like ALL other steam games (unless you disabled steam overlay for the game).

I was there earlier, but I don't think you play Permadeath/Survival, so you wouldn't be able to see me.

How does this make ANY sense

Wires go maybe a connection, then do that. They just stop working, nothing connected works. And its the pipes also, same crap. Explain how thats to much for how they are supposed to be used. There is no excuse for something like that. My ship is far away, I stood back. I ALREADY have power flowing through it. How does this make ANY sense

i saw someone who had "edje" in his name, but i don't know if that was on steam or not, if you come back, i can confirm.

I'm actually in the anamoly now. I have some eggs to sequence and was headed back before you said anything even.
I'm playing my Permadeath save, so you wouldn't see me unless you are on Survival or PD mode.

LOL, no...your NMS name is your steam user name. Obviously I'm the same name there as here.

There is, you can change it on your profile. But If you do that, it would change your name in the discussion forums AND the game.

I am not in the anomaly anymore. I finished and now I'm on a Derelict freighter.

The implementation of 'hot-spots' was added later in the game'e life and as such the original base 'footprint' mechanic had not taken their possibility into consideration (the bubble).

However most players seem to be able to work with the new systems with little problem.

I would argue if the OP spent 6 hours on trying to make something work the time would have been better spent on locating a more optimal power/mining site which no doubt could have been found in far less time.

Ultimately if NMS causes the OP this much stress then maybe they should, have they have suggested on their own, move on to another game.

Well what get me is the switch into the tirade of bashing the developers. Once I read that I stopped caring about OP. You could say the same things about the OP not being smart enough to figure out how things work.

I don't use planet bases much but when I do I never have an issue connecting power to extractors. I walk the path with a battery when the menu switches I back up and place the battery, repeat until I have connection points and connect them. I would usually put a tank beside the battery because you need those as well for the piping.

Crazy me for thinking that a game out for this long would clear up bugs that have existed for a minimum of 3 years. Hope with an outlook like that, that you are not in charge of anything even remotely important. Lets be real, this is an existing problem that they have ignored= bad at job. It is that easy. Not a far leap to lay the blame of errors at the feet of the people that made the error and clearly cant manage to fix it? Its not bashing if its the truth. If they fixed the issues with their creation, then I wouldnt have to as if anyone else knows how to work around their mistakes
