[Redacted] Planet
Well this so far has been one of the coolest planets I have seen in my time playing this game. Took me a while to find one, but it is interesting.

Just about everything is black and white, plants hopping around, and to top it all off some 100 foot sand worm keeps jumping over the small base I've built on it.

Though searching for why the are listed as redacted is proving to be tricky. Seems to be a running joke to not explain it.

Depending on how much lore you want spoiled, there's likely a reason for it.

The most likely reason is because the entire universe is a simulation that's slowly glitching out and degrading over time and these star systems exist in places where those errors are at their worst. It causes planets to be all kinds of messed up, with weird colour-palettes, extremely strange geography, flora and fauna, often very high Sentinel presence, dangerous atmosphere, etc.

They're [Redacted] because the system is actively trying to hide them, so as to discourage exploring those locations. The simulation is unstable and broken here and the Atlas doesn't want you in it.

It's just one of the possible names/types of Exotic biome planet. Finding an explanation doesn't work, because there isn't one beyond "the game is procedural and it's one of the possibilities".

All of the glitch-type planet variations are pretty cool, imo.

Ahh, that would make sense and explain quite a bit.

I think Planet of Light is my second favourite. Are these new or something? I've got something close to 300 hours in game and haven't seen these before.

Nah, they've been in the game for a long time. It's been like....3 1/2 years since the newest types were added (iirc), but depending on which galaxy type you hang out in, they are very rare except in systems with red/green/blue stars (i.e. none in the most common, yellow, star systems except for those "dead" planets converted as explained in the link below) so are more rare.

Euclid is a normal galaxy, so falls into a galaxy where that is the case. My saves are in Lush galaxies, so they are more common.

I been exploring one I found a couple days ago. Colors look like autumn. The planet is covered in tree stumps. The description says scorching winds but I have yet to see anything but perfect weather. Small caves that lead to bigger caves that lead to even bigger caves..... Every once and a while this game still surprises me.

I know it exists. I have been to one before, but come on. Pictures! Words are cool but pictures are worth more. ;P

To be honest I am old AF and really don't know how to put pictures in here. I made bases at each of them so I could go back. if I ever figure it out I'll post em. Currently flying through a Trinary system, again, something I have never seen in my 300 hours.

There may be simpler ways, but I go into my screen shots in Steam and copy the address shown at the top left of the picture. Have to be careful highlighting it before copy. Really easy to pop out of the picture and back to the main listing unless you are careful to not highlight too far.

You then paste it into your message. If you do it wrong, you don't get the preview of the picture in the message. I think the link still works, but prettier if you can show the preview.

What @Mr. Bufferlow describes is the way I know how to paste screenshots into the steam forums. Though, instead of selecting the url, what I do is open my screenshots (From my profile page) and then just right click on the screenshot that I want to share, then select "Copy Link address". I find it less fiddly then opening one and trying to select the whole thing without missing bits.

To take a screenshot in Steam, you just press F12, at which point you can upload them from Steam's "Screenshots" menu. Mentioning that in case that was the part you weren't sure how to do.
