Connecting Power Generation Over Long Distance.

I found a Electromagnetic Hot Spot, but it is 583u from where I want the power. It seems I can't extend power beyond the distance of one base claim, is there a way to connect one spot to the other that far away?

Bases can be expanded up to 1000u from the base computer.

Just build things in the direction of the power hotspot, such as a floor tile (Some people use lights). Each item placed creates a "bubble" around it which expands the base coverage area, in a bubble shape around the object, with a 50u radius.

There's actually a glitch you can take advantage of to go even further than 1000u, but you don't need to leverage that.

Also worth mentioning that there is a game bug that can cause issues with doing this if you have teleported away from/back to the base (or left the system) in the current game session. Just save at a save point at the base and reload (no need to restart the game) before expanding it, to make sure that bug doesn't interfere.

heck no...just place 1 at the boundary

That is where I am, I'm at the boundary, it won't let me place another tile beyond 300u.

You do not need to build a continuous road, it is enough to place something every 50units, such as a wooden wall.
And when you have finished building and all the electrical connections are made, you can then remove everything superfluous you built extra for this purpose, because it is no longer needed.

For your problem, that it is not possible to build outside 300units, the solution is in 'Jaggids' post.
And it was that when traveling to the base with the teleport, you then have to save the game and restart, only then will it then be possible to build beyond 300units.

Did you save and reload before starting, like I suggested? Because if you didn't, that bug I mentioned could be present.

also, you need to make sure you are standing inside the current base boundary as you place each part. Then place one every 50u, but always make sure you are inside the new 'bubble'.

Got to 387u by stepping back into the zone myself, and then extending but I can't reach any further without moving forward. Then I get the same message, that I am out of range

Lol...his vids have taught me all i know about base-building in NMS...now if he could impart some creative skill along with that...i'd have more than my 'bob+ boxes' scattered around the 'verse

Made it! Worked like a charm, but i extended using continuous pieces from the edge so i could go over the rough terrain easily. However, I assume I can remove most of it?
