You may have a look into your windows Event Viewer for more Info about that crash.

WINKey+R opens RUN, here type eventvwr

Here expand Windows Logs and look under Application for warnings with a Timestamp of that crash.

Copy&Paste the details here, so we can check it

There should be a crash dump file
If you can upload your crash dunp file into a cloud, with permission to download it, I´ll look into it
it should be in :
WinKey + R opens RUN than copy this: %localappdata%\Temp

and looks like :
NMS_crash_xxxxxxxxxx_NMSVersion_0xCrashcode_SteamID.dmp

You can try changing a setting in control panel. cp/manage 3d settings/program settings/no man's sky/ scroll down to Vulkan/Open GL present method. Change it to prefer layered on dxgi swapchain. If you're already using that try prefer Native. Overlays can cause that swap chain error and often using dxgi swapchain will fix it. Helpful for gsync as well. I've not had this problem with my RTX 4080 and i run several overlays. Also if mpo (multiplane overlay) was disabled via nvcleanstall or some other special gpu driver utility for example try reenabling it as such. Open notepad and copy paste below code.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm] "OverlayTestMode"=-
save file as enable mpo.reg and run the file. Basically it just deletes the reg that was added that removed MPO. Gsync users often prefer mpo disabled.

If you disabled fullscreen optimizations try reenabling it or vice versa. Are you using special k or another utility and didn't change the swap chain to the correct one, sequential or flip i forget i don't use utilities to make a game look better. I have in the past though. If it's not set correctly game will crash. I'd assume your gpu drivers are current. Only other thing i can think of is your cpu if it's a problem one can give all sorts of unrelated errors and oddly enough gpu errors as well. Hope it's not the cpu.

All just suggestions to try as i play with all of them and most are related to the swapchain. None of the settings effect me as i don't use special K or whatever utility and i don't use gsync. So may be a waste of time. But perhaps 1 or 2 will catch your eye. The prefer layered on dxgi swapchain has helped me a lot in other games. But in some others it's been terrible. It's typically the 1st setting i try changing.

What you could do is :
Create a crash dump file .. its called NMS.dmp and if you upload that file (uncompressed) into a cloud with permission to download, I may have a look into it ...
For this :
Run NMS ,,, than open Taskmanager .. Select Processes..right click on NMS and choose

In my case, disabling vertical sync helped.

TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML
The file is located in the game folder, change the line:
<Property name="VsyncEx" value="Off" />
