Three Questions About Interceptors and Harmonic Camps
First, is there any point to collecting interceptors? Or should I just keep transferring all my interceptor ship upgrades to the best interceptor found so far, and keep selling the other ones I've found?

Second, is there any point to using more than one Echo Locator on a planet? (I've collected a bunch.) It locates a Harmonic Camp which gives you an interface that lets you farm crashed interceptor locations, over and over. What would any additional Harmonic Camps on the planet give me (beyond a free multi-tool)?

Third, if I've located a Harmonic Camp, is dropping a save beacon the only way to permanently 'mark' it on my map so I can go back to it later?

Thanks for any help.

You can give 3 of the same type to NPCs of each race and recruit them to a squadron.
Otherwise, you could, if you wanted (I did on one save) have a personal fleet of 12 Interceptors.

If you are hunting for a wild-found S class of a design that you particularly like, then eventually a camp will run out of sites and start sending you back to ones you have already farmed. That's when you move to another camp.

If you've unlocked the Autophage quest, when you ping for the first Interceptor site, the hidden Autophage will appear at the camp. Take a radiant quest from one of them. Do it but don't hand it in. Then whenever you need to go back there, highlight that quest in your log and the camp will be marked.

Interceptors are cool. They can hover, and they have a unique design with unique parts. If you find one that you really like, do what you're doing to the others, scrap for parts, etc. Until you find the 'next' OH MY GOODNESS THAT IS SO COOL one. :)

Yes. Echo locators can find different camps, much like there are many drop pod locations, manufactoring buildings, etc. I think that there is only one ship type for planet, though? I'm not sure on this.

Yeah, or with a pencil and paper, or you can take a screenshot with the coordinates (N/S E/W) numbers to manually get there. Save beacon is easier. Only 5 per planet, however.

If you don't unlock MT storage, you get a quest to unlock it with perma-marker to the camp. The same way you may track sentinel ships.

Tolwyn, thanks for the help! Yes, the interceptor page[nomanssky.fandom.com] says: "The exact aesthetic variation of ship that shows up is tied to the system it is discovered in, so repeated dissonance spikes will always result in the same looking ship, just with different stats."

On screenshotting coordinates, I find it difficult to *see* the current coordinates in my starship when I am trying to fly back to a place. I always have to lurch the starship up at an angle, and then if I'm lucky I can see the current coordinates for half a second. Am I missing something here? Is it really that difficult?

gh0stwizard, what is MT storage? Multi-Tool storage? I was able to get the multi-tool from the Harmonic Camp, but you must be talking about something else. I can already store several MTs that I can switch to through the 'X' menu.

BTW, my first interceptor was called "Reforged-phi" where 'phi' was the actual Greek letter. Then I tried to change the name and the Greek letter went away. Any way of getting it back? My keyboard isn't Greek. :-)

Drop a base computer, instead; you can teleport to it.

Also, I believe you are capped at 5 save beacons per planet... no such restriction on base computers.

When I go interceptor shopping I generally start looking for echo locators and collecting shards. Once I find a camp I just drop a save beacon so I can go back to it. I usually collect 4 ships and keep the best one I find. Afterwards I scrap the other 3 for units and upgrades. Sometimes the different ships will have upgrades installed and if I like them I keep them and move them to the ship I'm planning to keep.

You can make a base at a camp but I almost never go through all that just to mark a camp. If for some reason you want to go to multiple camps you can use multiple echo locators but I personally don't find much reason to do that.

OK, your answers make sense.

However, I thought there was a max of 406 bases or something. Of course, that's not *really* a limit. :)
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

smurfy, the others gave good answers but yours was the most comprehensive. Thanks!
