How do I find the Off Planet Archive?
OK got a missoin to find an off planet archive for blueprints, etc. But when i open the galaxy map, i can see the red and white icon for it on the map along with some other icons, .....but i cant select anything in that area to go to, or warp to. can anyone help me understand what to do next?

i have been playing NMS from day one but had to come back recently to learn the new stuff so had to start over.

have six bases so far and have gotten access to the Nexus on the Anomally so i am making some progress but cant figure out what to do here. thanks in advance for any help

off-planet is usually a icon label of a POI shown when you are on a planet... it just means it's on another planet in the same system... no need for the galaxy map

OK here is a screenshot of what i get when i do a scan in the Galaxy map as instructed by the Missoin log insturciotns. it wants me to find the coordinates of an off planet archive for part of the path

i dont see the icon when i rotate my view in space from my ship... i did see that icon from a planet in the system, but then it didnt show up when i was up in space so far.

If you're looking for an off-planet archive, it should to be at the end of the green line in your galaxy map view, at what appears to be another base icon. The red and white icon in your current system is the primary mission objective, not the archive mission objective. Be sure you have the archive mission selected as the active mission in your log as you search.

Edit: In the galaxy map, right-click to 'deselect' your current star system then left-click on the star you want to go to.

Off-world archive? Wait a minute...

The red marker is your primary* objective; the icon for the secondary mission Base Computer Archives appears to be on the end of that green line, in the Iarikk Uiyy system.

Somewhat new player here playing on a computer BUT I found out that when in galaxy mode I can use the W key to zoom in and select any planet/system. My son has played for years on PS4/5 and didn't know that this can be done. IDK what button on a controller will let you do that !!!

There are missions in the starting quest series, mostly in the base computer archive repeating quest line, which require you to hyperdrive to one star system over to find an abandoned site or other building for some cheap reward, usually a class C or B mod you can sell for a few nanites. These quests never end...they are repeating in case you have not figured out some other means of making nanites. They are failsafe missions in case you get stuck without enough nanites for something. Since these starting quest missions were developed many, many years ago, however, there have been a ton of much better methods added to the game for generating nanites, such as:
(1) fighting sentinels (kill for nanites)
(2) curious mold (refine for nanites)
(3) starship scrapping (trade for nanites)
I suggest you stop with the base computer archive repeating quest line and get on with the game. It is a repeating loop.
