corrupt data archive bug
I have fallen victim to this bug, which has apparently been around for nearly a decade, but not fixed. The only workaround I've seen is to travel through a black hole and reset the mission, but that isn't helping. Are there any other fix or am I screwed?

Can you explain exactly what the problem is and what you are trying to do?

I have started the corrupt data archive mission in the base computer quest line. It send me to a system with a marker on a planet for me to land at, but as I approach the planet, the marker disappears and reappears on a different planet in the system. I head to that one and the marker disappears and reappears on the original planet. I go back to that planet on the way there, the marker disappears and shows up on the other planet, rinse and repeat.

It is apparently a known bug and the only fix I've read about is to travel far enough away to reset the mission, but that doesn't always work and it did not work for me.

That is weird, I have started quite a few new saves and done the base computer archives; many more than 20, but not sure how many, over the years, but most of them over the last couple of years. I have had saves that have sent me back to the same abandoned building for the final eight times. But I have not encountered it being a changing target like this. I haven't seen posts about this either so it must be pretty rare. have you reported it to Hello Games Zendesk https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/203140805-No-Man-s-Sky?

I've seen the marker change quite often from what I'm chasing to something else while descending on the mission. I got so use to this quaky behavior that I am trained to just open the menu to the log and reinstate the BCA mission and the target returns.

I even go so far as to then interact with the terminal that's the target, get the brief then turn around a drop a base computer, claim site. wait for the mission update and then interact with the base computer to get the next location, then delete the base. Wash, rinse and repeat.
