PS4 to PS5 save transfer
I realize this is the Steam forum, but this issue has been ongoing since the Worlds update hit consoles, and I can't find where it's been addressed anywhere. The option to transfer save files from the PS4 version to the PS5 version is no longer available. The zendesk article hasn't been updated, and no one seems to be getting any kind of response from Hello Games on this issue. I was really hoping to get back into this game, but playing the PS4 version on PS5 is incredibly unstable and glitchy, and I've sunk too much time into the game to see me starting over. Any updates on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

I did this a few years ago and it wasn't intuitive. I will see if if I can see the option on the native ps4 since I don't have the ps4 version installed on the ps5 anymore. FYI, once you do this(if its still possible), you won't be able to export it to a usb anymore, the ps5 is completely locked to the ps5 and the psn cloud only. I still play both ps5 and pc versions since I can still play old versions and old expeditions as well as archive saves myself however I choose to when playing PC.

First I would load the ps5 version and completely delete any save you have to see if it has the option to import a ps4 version (it may only show up if you have already uploaded a ps4 save specifically for transfer - it doesn't know about your ps4 saves on the system or the cloud, its a separate mechanism altogether.

I tried everything before I created a save on ps5 at all and never could find it. The way it used to be done was there would be an export button on the ps4 version, then an import on the ps5 version on the save select screen. Since the Worlds update, that button seems to be gone from both the ps4 and ps5 game. I haven't been able to find anything online or anybody getting the transfer to work within the past 2-3 months since the update.

I couldn't find anything either. It seems like it should be a bug since they are still updating the ps4 version and would eventually want to port it to a ps5 when you get a new console.

Yeah, both the pa4 and ps5 versions have been out for a while, and save conversion was working properly before. It's just been gone since the last update a few months ago. If it's a bug, it would be nice if HG would at the very least acknowledge it and tell people they're working to fix it. The radio silence is disappointing.

Yup, same here. My main save has a playtime of over 780 hours. Got myself a PS5 a month ago, and noticed the button/option to transfer the save data to the PS5 was gone (both on the PS4, as well as the PS4 version on the PS5). Sent Hello Games THREE requests/tickets so far, and pointed out their own help article on that matter needing to be updated. Two patches have been released in the meantime. No ♥♥♥♥ was given. Now all I can do is play this game's PS4 version on the PS5, which is indeed very unstable, and crashes a lot (not mentioning the insane number of ingame bugs, especially regarding textures and squares of ground not loading).

The more I look into this issue, the more I find out that quite a lot of other people have the same issue, and they're not getting any answer or information from Hello Games either, and are as disappointed as I am.

Fixing game breaking bugs and issues is not important, but adding FISHING (of sea creatures that aren't even present in the water, as well as a useless fishing boat on which you can't even fish in peace, especially during storms, and it's far easier to fish when standing on your starship, not to mention the useless expedition they made out of it), THAT was important...

This is the sort of thing that destroys the relationship between player and developer.

You may force them to ask by refering at your tickets ...
For that you need to login :

Ok... First of all, I appreciate what you're trying to do... However...

"You may force them to ask" ... What are you trying to say, exactly? I may force them to ask what?
"by refering at your tickets" ... What does that even mean? Referring what exactly at my tickets?

Now, I'm just gonna assume you mean I may keep bothering them to give me a straight answer, even though it has already been established that they don't even care enough to give us any information about that issue...
Why, though? Why should I even try? They obviously didn't care about me on that regard. They obviously didn't care about other people on that regard, like the OP here. And they obviously didn't care enough to update their very own "help article" on that matter (https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015591617-How-to-transfer-saves-from-PS4-to-PS5 (check the dislikes on the bottom)) AND I even see my ticket about the Omega Expedition completion bug, which they fixed "soon" after, is still marked as "Open". So they obviously don't give a ♥♥♥♥. Like, at all. So the better question is: Why should I bother? If I keep bothering them, the opposite is more likely to happen. You know, disappointed and/or angry players being regarded as "Karens"...

My point is: If they care, they will care. If they don't care, they won't care, either way.

I wonder if this was disabled as they had the new mechanism in development for cross saves. The new way will also allow you to copy the ps5 save back to the ps4. Seems like the beta is full. I am looking forward to playing my save on PC and occasionally the ps4 or switch.
