Can't interact with crashed Interceptor
So I used a Harmonic Camp to choose Dissonant Spikes to guide me to a crashed Interceptor ship. But unlike all the others, I can't interact with ship. Everytime I try, I get a "Light" prompt, forcing me to interact with the light that is nearby. No other prompt ever comes up on the screen, no matter how I approach the crashed Interceptor.

Is there some trick to get around this, or should I just abandon this ship? There's no way to get the Hyaline Brain, etc., because I can't interact with the ship.

FWIW, I followed the instructions in this thread and saved and reloaded, and it didn't help. All I get is the "Light" prompt.

Thanks for your reply. I'm just farming Interceptors, so I'm past finding one of these for the first time, where I think there *is* a mission in your log. Once you go back to the Harmonic Camp to get more Interceptors, it doesn't give you a mission in your log. Rather, you choose "Dissonant Spikes" from the terminal at the Harmonic Camp, and it puts an icon on your HUD that you have to travel to. That's the crashed Interceptor. The next step is to land and interact with it. You don't need an active mission for this.

So, I don't know what to do! I have MP turned off. The ship isn't flying away, just sitting there. I'm not on an expedition.

Maybe I just start over somewhere else... Anyway, thanks for your help!
Sounds like an escalation of the known pretty long-standing bug of "ghost-crash".
Since a save and reload is not fixing it, just return to the Harmonic Camp and scan again. It should* give you a fresh crashed instance.

*I do it quite often, when looking for A/S class interceptors, use visor to inspect, don't interact if it is a C or B, return and rescan for fresh site.

Seems like I remember having to have something in my inventory for the interaction, but maybe I am thinking of after you interact with the ship. I definitely remember having to canvas the initial camp area for trinkets and speaking with the broke bot.

Probably done that, but read your log carefully and make sure it is still the active mission. I am assuming the icon led you there. Try turning MP off if it is not off already. MP causes odd things to happen. Also, if there is a base there, remove it from your instance of the game.

I had trouble during an expedition because the broke ship would just fly away before I could interact with it. After I removed the base and did a save/reload it was back and everything went as expected.

Ah, OK, I didn't know returning to the Harmonic Camp would reset things! I'll do that and come back here if it doesn't work. Since I'm a newer player, I'm not aware of these longstanding bugs.

Every time you scan at the harmonic camp it will give you a new crash site, until you've cycled through all of them within <whatever range>. You can basically get multiple interceptors from a single harmonic camp that way.

I want to say logging/reloading messes with it though, in terms of where in the cycling through crashes that it is, but I could just be remembering incorrectly. Haven't stopped in the middle of any interceptor farming since that update first landed, when I farmed interceptors for days.

Thanks smurfy and Jaggid Edje for your help. I rescanned at the Harmonic Camp and it gave me a new crash site, and this time it worked.

I haven't found above A-class yet. Maybe I need to find a new dissonant planet, if only for the sake of getting a new style of ship!

Me, I always get trash truck style on them and there are so many cool ships I see flying around I finally gave in and went to NMS Coordinate exchange on reddit and spent untold hours looking at all of them. First one I went to find was a ghost. After that they were fine. When life is boring I still go in there n ck them out. Great place to waste time and get the very best ship if you are like me and don't really want to fly around in a trash truck or whatever your rng gifted you. (The damned thing was even white with a logo on the side. Even S class, no thank you very much.)
And kudos to those who share their finds!
