Why si I keep getting creature pellet prompts?
Was it because I accidentally adopted a critter I fed for a space station quest? I abandoned the pet and I'm still getting them. I even turned off tutorials when I started the game. Maube it will end when I finish the stupid base building quest which I thought was the tutorial. Maybe they could add in to the nice difficulty settings turning off some the the basic standard quests. Let me start with just the anomaly access and let me build my empire from there once I fix up my ship. Creative mode does not interest me, much, but that seems to be the alternative.

If you get the notification while collecting plants, there was a creature near you that you accidentally tired to feed. Otherwise, I dunno.

Turning off tutorials does not do anything other than skip a small number of the start-of-game quests and instructions. All of those annoying prompts that pop up as if you don't know what you're doing will never stop showing up, no matter what settings you use.

make some pellets in your inventory and you should stop getting the prompts

It's an option when you start a new game. Because it applies only to the very start of the game, after that there would be, quite literally, no point to changing it.

I've been playing since launch. I've never seen that option. And I've looked. I have a few annoyances with the game, but my single biggest one is not being able to turn off the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guidance messages, especially on a new save.
You cannot turn off the guidance messages, I said that above. What you can turn off is the start-of-game tutorials, which is what I thought you were asking about because those are the only things anyone in this thread has said have such an option.

As for where to find that option for the start-of-game tutorials, it's the first setting under "Ease of Use" in Difficulty options, when you first start a new game (at the game mode select screen, you choose "Custom" to get to the options).

Do you mean that the prompt is ALWAYS ON YOUR SCREEN (a bug) or do you just mean that when you are around the animals on a planet it shows up?

it will always show up there. It's part of the game. You can just... not, and ignore them.

If you have a quest that you're leaving hanging, that's probably what its stage is set at. So perhaps if you completed that quest somehow, that would go away.

Since I can't imagine what specific thing you're seeing, maybe a screenshot of what it is that troubles you might help.

When you are near an animal (in feeding range). It will always come up, unless another notification with higher priority is active. Until you actually craft and carry some pellets. If you have pellets in inventory it won't.

If the OP plays a modded game and uses the mod which increases the range at which you can feed animals, the prompt would come up even when animals are quite far away.

I think there have been a number of bugs introduced in the latest game, I am playing on Suse Linux and I might need to adjust my proton version but I never really saw those creature pellets messages before but they are lighting up a slot in my inventory and showin 1/1 ionce I made some but keep popping up once in a while. Another bug that has bothering me lately is abandoned spaceship I can't interact with without a restart. The only in game thing I can think of to get rid of yjr pellet problem is to recruit another critter and go through the phantom farming quest It used to be that you could get rid of these types of popups by going in to the guide and clicking all the topics read. Oh well it is a small enough thing.

If you are 'recruiting' pets, just ... stop using that option? You don't have to do that if you've fed an animal the pellets, you could milk them or whatever, ride it, or just leave it. You have to interact with them *twice* to do this, once to feed them and a second time when they've been fed. You can and should just *not feed them* if that's what you are bugged by?

If you're on Linux that's probably a thing you need to bring up with Hello on their zendesk if you think it's an actual bug. But remember that linux is not *necessarily* going to have the same full support as a windows build, or they may have a separate thing for you to do.

"Phantom farming quest"? If you're doing specific quests, are they *finishing*?

Well I was feeding the critters because of an space station agent quest, those seem to be new but maybe I just don't remember seeing them before. IWhat I was referring to as a phantom quest was some help thing tied to the guide that doesn't show up in the log. Most of the time I get those messages with the highlighted inventory slot such as crafting recipe procedures -- you need to harvest this and that to combine in to the other have log entries that you can abandon. I can find no log entry for critter pellets. I have no log quest for pellets but I keep getting the prompt. I should go back to the original game in this installation and check that it is not also afflicted by this thing. I have had other advanced save games ... finished the standard quests know all the techs, etc on windows partitions going back at least 5 years but I save nothing to the cloud and so they are long gone.

Well It doesn't seem to have infected the main save so I guess I am going to abandon the 66 odd gours I put into the save in question and start over and try not to trigger it again.. THis time I think I'll eschew a planetary base as much as possible.

I had a save that had that bug. I too deleted it. Even more annoying than exosuit maps and no way to fix. Zendesk bug report got no help. Had made pellets, verified files, killed a chicken, danced at the saloon with my homies, did everything.
