Salvaged frigate modules?
Where in the heck do I find, buy or steal frigate salvage modules? I have been wanting to update my freighter but need these modules but can I find any? Nope. And the game doesn't give you any clues as to where? Nope.

Done that and it returned the 2 hits from this post. Any other ideas?

crashed freighters have a "chance" to have them when you salvage the crates they have, also derelict freighters have 1 when you clear the ship and get to a console that gives 1 as a reward choice.

There are numerous Youtube videos on teh subject as well, a recent one is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsiO8jUa6Qw

Nexus missions often have these as rewards, space station missions also have them, both normal and pirate. Frustrating to get the first from frigate missions, but once you get one, they drop a lot more frequently in my experience. Definitely Nexus is the quickest. I've read that they drop from shooting freighter cargo pods, but not noticed this personally - but wasn't looking at the time either, so another possibility maybe?

Raise your rep with the guilds, then pick them up for free. no searching, and the only RNG is finding a system where they are offered. Every guild rep in the same system will offer exactly the same stuff, and guild reps are found at Colossal Archives on any planet that has them.

Find a guild envoy in a station that rewards them (preferably for free). Claim the frigate module, save, reload, repeat

You could also patrol freighter convoys in pirate systems to find the modules. Hover over a container with the crosshairs and it'll show what the contents are. When you're done with the jolly piracy you can do a quick mission for the pirates to get a passport and reset your reputation with whatever faction you just financially set back for decades.

Sources are:

Derelict Freighters. The drop rate is like 1 per 50 large blue crates, but some derelict freighters have 50+ large blue crates. It's probably the most reliable source, but costs money if your'e doing more than the 1 per day you get from Helios.

Missions. Some missions have SFMs as rewards.

Crashed freighters. The drop rate is about 1 per 20 vaults, but there aren't that many vaults per crashed freighter, so overall this is kind of slow, since it takes a long time to move to the next crash site. Note that there are always about 3-5 buried vaults in addition to the 2 above ground ones.

Freighter cargo pods. Blow one up and collect the SFM. I don't know the drop rate. Attacking a freighter group results in a reputation hit, and will get Sentinel Interceptors attacking you unless you're in a pirate system.

If you did the search while in this thread, you will only get results in the thread, by default. Click the little x in the green "In topic "Salvaged frigate modules?"" box to get a full search.

Just a quick note for any future searches.

if you managed to reset to a new galaxy via main plot, you can use the guild that offer these modules as reward to farm all that you need within a day.

👆👆👆👆As the people suggested ,raise 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️,put eye patch and shoot them pods or start with the crashed freighters.
On Space Station ask for Cartographer.
Get Emergency Charts, 1data a piece and dig.
Not all Emergency Charts have Crashed freighters.
It's like lotto.

1. Piracy

2. Crashed freighters .
Note: I got just 1 salvaged frigate unit per crashed freighter, most of the time not it all, zip, NADA.

3 Derelict freighter- may you will come across of this , may be not.
You can get for 5,000,000 units scanner from one crook on Space Station. He set up his shop under stairs, Guild Envoy's side.

The way do you choose - depends on how comfortable( how far in game you are) you with all these :" piracy or being a good "

Frigate missions. Got most of mine from sending out frigates on missions from the freighter.

you don't "reset" anything if you go to an other galaxy (you can travel from/to any galaxy at any time).

Guild envoys exist in all galaxies, you can find envoys that reward salvaged frigate modules in the first galaxy.

I'm not aware of these guild envoys. I know the guy from the merchants guild, is that the guy?
