How Many Other Players Can NOT "Bait on the Hook"?

Cant Put Bait on the Hook Sooo CANT Get this CRAP!! Expedition Done!!!! ((Taking The Bait)) Current Objective: Use bait while fishing! Tryed Useing the Types of Bait Tryed Useing The Fish I'v got, NONE OF THEM WORK!!!

1) Enter my inventory
2) Navigate to the multitool tab
3) Select the fishing rig
4) Select Bait
5) WILL NOT BAIT HOOK!!! Tryed placeing it Tryed the E Key! NONE WORK!!@!!!!!
Oh And Have Tryed This on 4 Other Saves Now And NONE of them Work!
And Playing on my PC to!

Ohhkay ... you were fishing on land and now just tried to fish in the water??? I see the yellow marker in the water, you haven't cast your fishing line yet.

FYI - you don't have to have already cast the line out to put the bait on, which functionally doesn't even make sense. You CAN apply the bait whether the hook is in the water or not though.

You have to go into your Multi Tool screen, right click on the rod (I believe it is right click) , the rod menu pops up, click on the empty bait box and another menu will open your inventory and there you choose the bait and how many portions of it and then transfer it to the bait box.

Some of us? Seems like you're the only one affected, pal. You have to be doing something wrong. I use a controller for this game, it's as simple as dragging the bait into the box and pressing the A button, or the associated mouse button. This game is not without its weird bugs though, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Bait is optional anyway. It may slightly increase chances but you can catch everything required without it.

Tom is not the only one with this issue. Current theory is that if you used mods on a save at any point in the past, then you might have this bug in your save. Removing mods, uninstalling and reinstalling, none of this will fix it.

However, once mods are removed a NEW save supposedly wont have this issue (in the process of testing this now).

To Baythan: you are correct on the bug issue. I too could not bait my hooks on any save even after turning off ALL mods and replacing " Disable all mods" back into its location. only then starting a "new Save" without any mods fixed the issue.

Update: New save was able to apply bait properly. This new save was made after removing mods, deleting mod folder, uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. All these steps had been done in an attempt to fix the previous save, but so far it still cannot apply bait.

I can NOT apply bait as well.
I click but it doesn't stick.

I too cannot apply the bait - I drag a bait item across to the hook icon, click and nothing will stick. I have logged this and hope for a reply.

Sorry to say But maybe It's a Mod Doing it! Had to uninstall and delete both Folders in the Roaming/HelloGames folders then Reinstall the Game ""USE NO MODES"" Then it Works!

For me it happens too, but only if I try to add more bait to what's already there - the new bait won't drop onto it no matter how much I click. I don't have any mods and didn't need to remove any.

When it happens, I have to completely remove the old amount that's remaining and then re-add the new full amount all in one shot.
