is there something better than fish stew? so far everything seems to lead to it by processing over and over

You can combine 3 ready fish, or two. If you combine two - it will be a stew, if 3 - assorted. Whether there is something else, I do not know. But as a reward they gave a fish pie, so I think there are many recipes.

yeah it feels like it might be based on vallue of the cooked fish too. had 3 cooked sea fish turn into a sea's bounty but in the cooking recipes it just lists it as seafood assembly, and theres multiple copy's of it

some more findings if anyone is interested. kelp sac growing in water in processor makes rice which seems to have a decent size improvement of 33% when used as bait

while meat chunks from killing animals processed into meat seem a easy to get Rarity boost of 40% when used as bait

yea seeing some odd stuffs. It seems like they have fully cooked foods only using one fish I used and A rated fish and Got Fried fish back without using oil or anything like that.

yeah single cooked fish can be cooked again with other cooked fish, the second u use a second ingredient it seems to prevent that.
