Fishing in a storm

Does anyone understand how to complete the quest fishing during a storm? I have been fishing for 3 hours EXACTLY DURING A STORM, but I still have 0/3. During a storm, you catch exactly the same fish as in normal weather, I don't understand anything...

I haven't played this update yet (and, may not for a bit - I'm in the early stages of a new game on an older version of NMS), but, I wonder..

Is the storm one of those "extreme" storms on an extreme-weather planet?

Granted, I have no idea if that's part of it - but the thought came to mind, and the planet "type" wasn't mentioned one way or another..

It's just a storm mode (when crystals appear), the description says you need to catch fish at this time. I can't do it, I'm already pissed off by this task

The big problem is that storms are quite rare, and what's more, they end quickly. You just stand there and wait, and wait, and wait. Then a storm comes, you manage to cast your line 4-5 times, and that's it, the storm is over. And then you stand there again and wait, wait, wait. The dumbest task of all.

That's the "extreme" storm type I was referring to; so.. bummer. Hopefully to be patch-fixed soon.

Thankfully (for my situation), by the time I do play after this update, the main bugs will have been patched out by then.

(It does sound a bit boring - seems like every game I've played that had fishing as more than a simple thing - always has some completionist goal to achieve that is kinda boring to me ((so I rarely do them)). But someone else may completely dig it, so there's that..).

I also try to fishing storm fish there for almost 3 hrs and get just 1 storm fish

Then I decide to try my luck somewhere else

I go New Eithagi at the same system.

1 storm, 3 Pale Snowtail, which count as storm fish, mission compelete.

I found some planet where storms were very common. I completed this task in about 15 minutes.

Fishing in storms with the right bait is still getting me nothing. REALLY frustrating :/

I just got one after two hours of trying. I had to find deep water and fish from the top of my ship since the skiff is useless in a storm. Even so, I got one through the whole storm. This sort of suggests the storm fish are extremely rare. probably never will find one without the bait for them.

If you've not tried experimental, do so – problem may be fixed there. Two of the fixes from yesterday evening look like they may be relevant:

• Improved the objective clarity of a number of expedition mission steps.
• Adjusted the catch rates for certain mission-specific fishing items.

This has been the best advice. Make sure you go to pretty deep water, 40u+ deep worked for me. Caught all three in 1 storm while using Magpulse Lure.

I did this on a frozen planet with mag pulse lure it did not work for me I'm going to try a different planet
