Message in a bottle?

I received the first message in a bottle fairly simply - Landed, fished a bit and up it came. This second message seems to elude me. I've caught so many fish I'm running out of cold storage. Big, small, medium, A, C and so on. Still no Angler's message. Anyone managed to get it yet?

Nonsense. I never ran without bait, and caught all the proper bottles and finished the expedition. I love when people don't actually test out their favorite pet theory with actual A/B proper testing.

this is a bugged quest.

it really only hits when you have the quest selected. and then you can actually fish up all of them at the first fishing spot if you fish long enough.

and bait doesnt seem to affect it, just the quest being selected

how many hours take you to get the last botle in last reszezvous?
4 hours and only 1 bottle that didnt do nothing.
all rest of missions are done.
did you get any bottle with the auto-fish trap?

I ended up getting the last one simply by going away, doing many different things, then coming back (with the mission selected) and just randomly fishing off my ship. I collected two junk bottles in that period - that period (the successful one) was about a half hour of constant fishing.

Having finished the expedition last night, I'd have to say that bait/no bait seemed to make little, if any difference in whether I caught a fish or bottle - or even if I caught what I was seeking.

That seems counter to the idea of going to the effort to craft specialized baits, which would infer there's a benefit to using them.

Thanks for being more polite than the precedent user. I think bottles are scripted catches and could be, in the end, not impacted by bait. Usually a bait would boost fish categories, but if the quest item constitutes a separate pool entirely - from all fish quality and junk - then it would make little difference, since the coin toss would be about if your catch is from that loot pool or the normal pool. That would explain why the bait would make no difference, if it's actually the case (it's just a theory so far).

Si estas usandoo mods, quitalos, yo tenia ese problema y era un mod que no estaba actualizado para la version actual.

If you are using mods, remove them, I had that problem and it was a mod that was not updated for the current version.
