Is there a guide to show what settlement feature does what?
I tried the wiki already but the features listed there are different than from what I always get offered. There's another page but it's completely useless unfortunately.
Like for example I get stuff like root juice cannery or proton chamber and it's not listed anywhere.

Not sure but those buildings will reduce your maintain cost or increase production. They usually hint to which function they do.
If your cost to maintain is already zero go for the production ones.

The building names are mostly flavor test. The only thing that really do is improve the stats of your settlement. The same thing with "features" .

Honestly its not worth thinking too much about. Its a poorly designed feature.

My journey has taken me to a place where I just travel systems towards the center of the galaxy. Photograph my journey. Visit the stations and interesting planets. And return to my settlement from time to time and check up on things.

I find it a pleasant addition to my adventure.

Most of them are google-able. You can also just save right before an action and re-load restore point if you did not choose well

There are fan-sites and wikis you can check for this data, iirc.

Ah, I thought that would bug out and make the choice not available again. I had that happen once where I lost quicksilver and didn't have the weekly quest available anymore when I had to reload because of a bug.

Yeah the wiki and the resources one but the latter sucks. The layout is so confusing.

I have already max productivity and maintanaince is also pretty low. I'm currently working on population and happiness. Managed to get a class upgrade right now as I endorsed another festival.

I built a base near a settlement. The range of your base means that you can add decorations and create streets to the existing buildings. I put a landing platform there and sometimes a trader lands there. The production is some kind of lubricant and glass bottles. Every now and then I shoot down a few sentinels so I have something to do when I'm not on a mission. A saloon has recently been opened, where there is a party day and night, so the residents are happy.

Not really very exciting, but fun to do.

I think I already maxed all my buildings as it has been months since I last got a request for a new building. I have a base nearby as well to access storage and stuff. A settlement is kind of a good way to make some money as well aside from the usual stuff. If you sell the stuff produced in the right system you can make a couple millions easy each day.
