Option 2. Buy the 'Scatter Blaster' & its companion the shell greaser from the anomaly. The 1st and 2nd station contain S upgrades for Scatter blaster. Travel between stations to buy 3 of them, install all 3 and the 2 from the anomaly. Put the Scatter blaster in the Supercharged slot: blast way. Buy as many shield upgrades as you can going between stations.
Option 3. Buy the 'Neutron Cannon' and its companion upgrade from the Anomaly. The 1st and 2nd station contain S upgrades for it. Travel between stations to buy 3 of them, install all 3 and the 2 from the anomaly. Put the Neutron Cannon in the Supercharged slot: blast way. Buy as many shield upgrades as you can going between stations. Edit: you'll need some esoteric items to isntall the NC, you can get from blasting sentinels and opening the salvaged glass, or try and buy from the space stations & or the pilots.
Option 4. Install all the Pulse Splitter upgrade and its companion, both of which are rewards for the expedition milestones. The 1st and 2nd station contain S upgrades for it. Travel between stations to buy 3 of them, install all 3 and the 2 from the Rewards. Put the Pulse Spitter in the Supercharged slot: blast way. Buy as many shield upgrades as you can going between stations.
Option 5. Unlock the Minotaur for 14 salvage data (4 for roamer & 10 for Minotaur). Buy the Minotaur cannon from the anomaly; install in SC slot. Blast away. The new hazard meter does not[/b] drain inside the Minotaur. Its the best way to travel during this expedition.[/b]
I used option 3 after scouring space stations 1 & 2.
You can alternate between and air attack and ground attack by simply taking off or landing and getting out of your ship. When you're in the air with a quad spawned, take it out. Do that until you reach your quota.
I think it took me three or four cycles through all the levels, but they go quick, so it was only a few minutes.
Slightly cheaty yes but I am not a combat oriented player and 8 spiders was 7 too many.
There are multiple ways to handle this and I've posted suggestions on this already.
1. Copy over your multitool to handle them.
2. Research up and get the minotaur and use it.
3. Shoot them from your ship and fly off fast to avoid/lose sentinel ship aggro.
4. On foot combat wise either with point 1 and to or not: Locate on planet one of those resonator spots withe big one or find a sentinel citadel spot.
Make a base near. Dig a hole next to the base to go down and around in an L shape, or what have you so the goal being you can drop in and they stop/lose their search for you and stop being aggro.
Focus kill on the big one, if a healer comes in, kill it. Kill as well 1 or 2 of the other ones so it drops green canisters so you can shoot it to reup your shields. Once you get the quad down, drop in the hole, wait out the aggro then come back up, enter then exit your ship to save the progress.
Then exit the game and reenter. Quad will reset and you can rinse and repeat from there.
1. Shoot the repair bot, a wrench above it's head. Stops healing of others so you don't insta lose all your progress (harder than it sounds though)
2. Buy upgrades for 1 weapon, if you're going bolt, buy a ton of bolt mods. Space is limited so diversifying without sufficient slots kills your dps on the desired weapon of choice.
3. This is a personal note, the mods have a bunch of stats on them. Focus on attack speed, bullet count and charge time reduction. It's less about doing more damage per shot, more about shooting 50 more rounds per second. Trying to gain dmg will have you pulling your hair out like me. Learned from observation that people who wiped enemies did so by shooting a million shots per second to my 5.
4. Dig a hole to hide in or build a fighting mini base. Drones won't go deep underground but the quads will.
5. Kill the triangular bots because they re-spawn the armored drones.
6. Pick up the capsules they drop for constant shield maintenance.
Since then I've been able to fight my way through hordes of drones, today I realized that after 5 star wanted level, a huge boss drone appears that gives you some goodies and a cool POI if you kill it. Tells you how far I've gone from struggling with walkers to clearing waves. Hope this helps!
