NMS 2024 Expeditions list
In reviewing the NMS release log, I notice the following expeditions in 2024:

In my opinion, this is quite a list. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, HG ran remixed editions of that year's expeditions. It will be interesting to see what they do this year.

For reference, here are the previous expedition reduxes:

I know, they're burning the candle at both ends. Looks like Expedition Forever. You take a vacation break... bam... missed expedition.

You can replay the Expeditions. There is a thread around somewhere that explains how to do it. I've used it before to replay Expeditions 1, 2, and 3.
I only ever get on NMS to play when a new Expedition comes out. I'm kind of burned out on the game but the Expeditions are a little refreshing. I'm sure there are many players like me and Hello Games is probably aware of the surge in players during a new Expedition.
So far, if I'm counting correctly, we've had 5 expeditions this calendar year, but the Omega expedition was not a numbered expedition. See the original post above for the list.

I am hoping they replay 12 and 13. Couldn't use the computer due to an injury for months & missed those two. They looked like they had some fun rewards. Replaying them on my own looks a bit complicated. Not much of a computer person.

December 2023 - January 2024 they had an official in-game "Redux" expedition of #3 that awarded some of the more popular items from Expeditions 1-5 (except the Normandy from #2) and then "full" Reduxes of #9, #10 and #11.

It was a fair assumption that Dec 2024-Jan 2025 may see Reduxes of this calendar year's expeditions - #12, #13, #14, #15 & #16.
Of course, the catch there is that this year they introduced the Anomaly Expedition Terminus and there is supposedly code that can allow any expedition to be accessed from there.

I think there are 2 possibilities:
1) We'll get the "usual" 2024 Expeditions available for a week each over Dec-Jan.
2) We'll get an Expedition Terminus that opens all prior expedition as "redux" versions.
It is also still noteworthy that we have never had a Redux of Expedition #8 (Polestar).

I thought the Polestar redux was in this group: https://www.nomanssky.com/2022/11/holiday-2022-expeditions/

That serves me right for relying on the Fandom Wiki ;)

Thus far, every expedition (except the ones released this year) have had a redux. Cartographers stands out as having been revisited not just once, but twice.

March 2021, Expeditions introduced to the game.[www.nomanssky.com]

November 2021: Expeditions Revisited[www.nomanssky.com]
  • Expedition 1 - Pioneers
  • Expedition 2 - Beachhead
  • Expedition 3 - Cartographers
  • Expedition 4 - Emergency
November 2022: Holiday 2022 Expeditions[www.nomanssky.com]
  • Expedition 5 - Exobiology
  • Expedition 6 - Blighted
  • Expedition 7 - Leviathan
  • Expedition 8 - Polestar
December 2023: Holiday 2023 Expeditions[www.nomanssky.com]
  • Expedition 9 - Utopia
  • Expedition 10 - Singularity
  • Expedition 3 - Cartographers
  • Expedition 11 - Voyagers

Rumours (based on datamining) are that Beachhead will join Cartographers as a 2-redux expedition, with a second redux happening this year. Speculation is it will start on November 7th (for N7 day). That rumour pre-dates the Cursed expedition happening, but it is interesting that Cursed is a shorter-than-normal expedition which ends on November 7th... coincidence? Perhaps, we'll see.

Pardon my complete lack of experience in this area, but what exactly is an "expedition redux" in comparison with the original expedition?

They generally tweak them a bit, probably so that it is easier to do 'quickly', because they don't run for as long (each).

Tweaked for brevity, and some milestones may be removed entirely - for a specific example, I'd be willing to bet that the redux of Liquidators will not include the optional community "Purged By Fire" milestones.
The first expedition redux of 2024: Beachhead

Starting date: 7 November 2024 (aka "N7" day)
Reward: The Normandy frigate
Duration: two weeks
Announcement: https://www.nomanssky.com/2024/11/cross-save-ps5-pro-normandy/
