So sick and tired of the spam every time I enter and exit a portal.
16 expeditions now and they are still REFUSING to budge on this issue and refusing to get rid of the stupid comm balls despite us asking and pleading to at least let us hide them if nothing else.
And I agree, it's very annoying. One of the portals along the expedition route had so many comm balls it was like comm ball carpeting.
I don't care if you were here first, if you're saying hello or random gibberish nonsense, just let me get to the bloody portal! I have even seen a few messages claiming that they wish there was a way to get rid of them, so we're not the only ones that are irritated with these damn balls.
The com balls started out as a way to let someone know you had visited their base and for the owner to give directions from the nearest Portal. Our ship did not come through so you either hoofed it or build an exocraft to travel on the planet. It was actually pretty fun but the "I want everything now" crowd whined enough and we got what we have today.
Once they introduced MP and started "community events" we would all just portal to a planet and do minor fetch quests. Leaving your regards at the portal exit was customary. At that time other players were just orbs of light that floated around so it was still reassuring to know those balls of light were actual people.
Just prior to NEXT was the golden age of the game IMO.
