I was working on that 64 kill milestone and also collecting mordite. I intentionally left the starting planet before doing it because getting mordite there was kind of a PITA. The OTHER planet though.... Perfect planet for it. Tons of fun.
The first Elixir they gave me didnt seem to do anything, the one i made at least ticked off the next part of Expedition, but drinking it when i was already charged was a mistake because i cant make any more, no di-hydrogen, im just basically stuck in a death loop, theres no land within sight of the island, i have farmed everything on it
Dont have enough Carbon left to run my refiner, or to recharge my mining laser, so cant fix the ship
But at least it isnt permadeath
Think i will just start again
I welcome the challenge, but not all starts are equal
Every start procedural...
I can see why those who prefer an easy time would hate it, the main problem is HG have made the game easier and easier as time has gone on, so newer players are used to easy
Relaxed Mode is a perfect example of this, in a game where Normal Mode is already too easy, SC Slots and X-Class Upgrades when we were already OP with 3 S-Class Upgrades
I considered "normal" a tutorial Mode, and once i had figured out the basics only played in Survival and PD for years
But just because i prefer that doesnt mean everyone will, or should
Each to their own
But if its making you angry, just start it again, take what youve learned and improve upon it
'too hard' is not the phrase i'd ever place money on anyone using for NMS... sweet baby jesus, don't tease me just tell me it's true...
has my baby grown up?
is there bite to the survival?
is the struggle REAL?
now im 3 hours seeking into storms in different planets of the system to find crystals, with no luck at all.
twisted stupid exp it is for sure.
well.. have you tried changing the settings??? because you certainly can, i even started a new file in expedition mode, the difficulty options are there, i don't think you can go to the easiest setting on some things, but you can make creatures "not hostile" i do believe, not sure if that works on the squiddys, but you can set them to do less damage, set creatures to spawn less, and set it so you use less "fuel" (which also effects ammo)
BUT, you can also almost ignore those little squids, they have horrible aim, just keep moving.
once you get the ship repaired you can just jump in the ship and lift off, about when you get that little skip as you leave the atmosphere the boundary gauge resets to full and they will not bother you for a while. and / or use the potions if you need a bit of time.
they also hit you less if you go under water, underground, or in a building.. they CAN still hit you sometimes, but not to often, especially if you are moving.
if you are not on a planet there is almost nothing different then normal, except you have no hyperdrive, you can use the anomoly and teleporters after you leave the first system (by portal of course)
