Locating the 2 ancient ruins - Expedition 16

I found one just by travelling low, but will try a map from the station for the second.

Visit a station, buy planetary charts: Ancient Artifacts. Each use of such a map has a 33% chance of pointing to an ancient ruin.

And if you get one of the 67% that doesn't, just pop another map. If it's anything like the Emergency Maps, it won't give you more than one of the same type until you have visited the prior one.

Even the "wrong answers" from those maps, you can ask it for the past, and that'll give you one that counts.

Yep, I didn't know that at the time of my original reply above because I hadn't even started the expedition yet at that point. Now that I've started (and completed) it, I would even argue that you're better off going after the plaques seeing as they will always work, whereas with ancient ruins it has to be the type that has the interaction and not the type that has loot to dig up.

so the location about unearthing artifacts is not valid then? I've used already like 10 maps and it's always unearthing artifacts and it does not work or it's bugged

The maps can work but are not reliable. I use the fly low and slow method and found one pretty quick. Got the second by heading to a com ball on the planet. It was pure luck and hope, but got the win.

buy a few maps...
go to planet, exit your ship, use the map data... if i reveals an ancient plaque or whatever the other names are it is NOT the one you dig up stuff at..
if you get something else, just reload from last restore point (when you exited the ship about 10 seconds ago) and try again until you get the right one... took me about 10 minutes, and that's mostly because i actually forgot and flew to the first one that was a dig site.

You're using the wrong map. You want the ruin site with the two knowledge stones and the interaction that tells you the history of the dominant life form.

The easiest way for me to find stuff i need is to go to a station and use the teleporters, there are a lot of nice fellas that build baces near the things u need for expedition

Some players are confusing the ruin with the two knowledge stones that tells lore and the artifact dig site. You want the first one. That has not changed.

There also monoliths which look like ruins but have three knowledge stones and different lore.

The game the game terminology can be confusing at times.
