Harmonic Interface at Harmonic Camp
Does it find an infinite series of Dissonance Spikes, or only 5-6 and then it's done?

I don't think it's a fixed number, I believe it works just like when scanning for POI's with an Exocraft. It has a range limitation. If that is the case, then "how many" it finds would depend on how many are in range.

OK, thanks. I was getting different answers from different threads I had searched here. Some said it's infinite, others said it's 5-6. My experience says it never runs out, but maybe it just respawns the ones you already got, and sends you back there again after you cycle through them all, so it 'seems' infinite.

It will send you back to previous visited locations at some point, but if you already took the ship it won't be there (until a period of time has passed which is longer than just a day). If you didn't take the ship, however, it will still be there.

Edit to add: For me, if I logged out of the game at any point while using any given camp, it started giving me repeat locations right away. I make a point of not exiting the game until I'm done with a camp because of that, so I am not sure if it is still the case.

Ah, OK, so that refutes the "5-6" theory. I don't know - it's sending me to an endless series of ships. I take 'em all, and there's still more!

Keep going and see how many you find! Just don't exit the game until you don't get anymore.

I'm curious and never had the patience to keep going to see what kind of "limit" I'd hit (in large part because of what I said in my edit above. If I log out while in the middle of doing a harmonic camp it started giving me repeat, empty, locations when I got back into the game.

Huh, OK. I've never gotten an empty location from "Locate Dissonance Spikes".

BTW, I'm astonished I could possibly learn something about this game you don't already know!

Well, it's getting a bit tiresome. I'm sure I've found and sold about 12 ships here, all from this one Harmonic Interface. I finally found an A-class one whose base stats are very similar to my current A-class interceptor I got from another dissonant planet. So I kept it instead of selling it.

Keep in mind that I had a save beacon at this Harmonic Camp, so I've been going there for a few days. I don't think quitting the game changes things. In any event, I think I'll call it a day.

I might look for one more ship here tomorrow, but then I think I'm going to a different Dissonant planet, because I at least want a different design of ship. :-)

I know how tiresome it gets, that's why I don't know the upper limit myself. There's just some things I cannot bring myself to keep doing until I hit some kind of upper threshhold.

Pretty much the same as any other type of POI on planets, when people ask "how many X does a planet typically have" regardless of whether X = Crash sites, Drop Pods, Minor Outposts, wild base computers, etc. ... I simply answer "assuming it's a normal planet that has that POI type, it's a lot", because I have always gotten tired of trying to find the answer before I have ever run out of new POI's for any of them.

Planets are big.
