Matter beam and starship fabricator

I've been collecting hauler, solar and some fighter type ship parts in order to build few ships (I've been using this same hauler since 2020 lol), filled in 3 storage containers with parts, installed the matter beam and .... nothing shows up in the starship fabricator? I cannot put all the parts I got in the main freighter inventory since it wouldn't fit in there, I don't even remember which parts are from which kind of ship since I've been just throwing then in the cargo #1 to #3, how I can even use the starship fabricator?

You can only build one ship at a time, just move the parts you want to use to regular inventory. They tell you what ship type they are for if you read their tooltips when they are hovered over/selected.

put the parts into your ship or suit inventory... it doesn't take but three or four parts to build a ship, IIRC...

the core/engine (bought at the ship merchant)
cockpit (taken when salvaging another ship)
wings (taken when salvaging another ship)
i think one other thing but can't recall (also from salvage)

remember, too... only shuttle parts can build shuttles... same for each of the others... in other words, you cannot build a fighter with shuttle wings...

Yeah, it is inconsistent. You also can't donate to guilds from containers, or sell from them, and if you loot something it does not go to existing stack in them like it would do with main inventory.
