Random S or A Class hauler find possible without glyphs?
As title says, I need a very good hauler with lots of space, can be any ship actually as long its good for carrying cargo and maybe not fold like a shoebox during battles.

I played NEXT update for ~130 hours, there I jumped to a coordinate with a glyph and took the ship everyone was talking about (exotic).
It did not feel satisfying at all though, kind of one to find one myself, and before I shoot in the dark where possiblity is 0, do they spawn in the beginning / Euclid, or do I have to finish the game first? Are the chances better with higher Drive planets?

It is possible to find one, yes. Generally I think the better the economy of the system, the better your chances of an S class, but it's still RNG. You can sit in a space station for hours watching ships come and go and still never get one. Also, Haulers only have slightly more cargo slots open up front compared to other types and you can add slots to all ship types giving I think pretty much all types upwards of 100 slots, so don't get too attached to the Hauler = best for cargo capacity thing. If you absolutely love the look and feel of them, sure, but I find Haulers to handle like a brick, so I personally avoid them and go with a different ship type. I know it's not what you asked, but "Dissonant" systems that have Dissonant planets with corrupt sentinels have crashed Sentinel Interceptors that often have better stats and quite a bit of storage space. You won't always get A or S class ones, but nice thing is is even C class ones can be scrapped for 20-40 million unit's worth of materials and upgrades, which is a better value than most crashed ships of the usual sort. Plus there's plenty of Radiant Shards and Inverted Mirrors you can refine for nanites on the planet while you work your way around collecting and scrapping Interceptors.

Random S Haulers are possible. Normally, I look for a specific Hauler design if I want to keep it; I chose in my latest save to go with an "uglier" design because it was S class. I do not play the tutorial, and it was early in my playthrough. The class is linked to the economy of the system. You won't find any S class in 1 star systems. You have a 1% and 2% chance in 2 and 3 star systems, respectively. Since the Waypoint update, the number of slots based on ship type has been vastly homogenized. Whereas you needed a hauler previously to get many slots, you can get nearly as many slots in any style ship now. It is unfortunate, as it renders the haulers less meaningful.

I think Outlaw/Pirate systems have the best chance of an S class spawn, but the downside is more potential attacks to deal with and there's an overwhelmingly greater chance of C-Class spawns to counter that raised S chance. Just because you've the best chance there of an S doesn't mean you still can't have bad luck and end up mostly finding C class stuff. IF I do care enough I seek out Outlaw systems, but usually I just avoid 1 star economy systems and take what RNG has to offer from that point

A lot has changed since NEXT. In general if you want a hauler look in Gek system with a 3 star economy (use the economy scanner tech). Pirate systems have the highest chance of S class, but lower chance of A and B class.

Most ships can be upgraded to 100-120 cargo slots . Ship class can be upgraded as well.

You can scrap ships for parts and build custom ships.

There are time limited community events, "Expeditions" that give special rewards. Some expeditions give special S class ships as rewards. These expeditions usually repete in December and January.

I see, so a dissonant planet, or 3 star system or if possible in a pirate system and not look for hauler specifically. I agree haulers do feel sluggish, cargo is my priority, so if all ships can have same maxed cargo, I wont bother with looking for hauler specifically. Thanks everyone!

What amount of cash do I have to be sure to carry with me to not miss out on?
Ive seen some 80 mil already, have 100 mil now.

well the Dissonant planet thing is specifically for crashed Sentinel Interceptors that you can get if you specifically want those kinds of ships, but you don't NEED them. I just find them light, nimble, powerful in combat and with great Hyperdrive range and recommend them, but mentioned them more to let you know that you don't have to go with Haulers to get cargo slots

biggest benefit of interceptors is the ability to hover at 0u/s
imo this trumps every other ship-type bonus

and yeah, haulers are only notably better for cargo before you upgrade them... the difference is pretty negligible when maxed out

Yeah I get you :) all the things mentioned sound very good too.

Hovering at 0u/s sounds also great, especially for planetary fights/shooting doors.

Thanks, will try to find one

Got a B class https://imgur.com/a/YjkZrFU and already installed the older stuff, definitely more space already and the 0u/s are awesome, especially that it clamps at 0 instead of going back like in space. Also the hyperdrive range, Ive never seen anything like that around NEXT, maybe an upgraded Frighter.
I found another resonance thingy, will try to use it for another roll.
Thanks again for the suggestions!

OP: This may be helpful to you.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/1be7qkb/comparing_the_best_possible_base_stats_for_each/?rdt=49755

Big weak spots: Does NOT show the starting slot range, and potential expanded slots.
(Still looking. I have an idea where I can get those.)

BTW. I usually just keep the first crashed ship I find, clean it up, and use it as mobile storage, regardless of what it is. I can do a time consuming search for The Most Favored type / model / Class later. And it pretty much DOES NOT MATTER what type you use for mobile storage, because you are never going to FLY it anyway. You are just going to summon it, which is quite safe.

Edit:
This wiki page has the latest initial slot range, and potential slot expansion, and type specific bonuses for each ship type. But it is not in the best format for quick comparison.

https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Starship

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a Primary Ship, ultimately you probably want an Exotic, but they are so very, very hard to come by, even later when if you are willing to buy it.

Next best may indeed be a Hauler, both because they START with more Cargo slots than others, grow to a FEW more final slots, and the AWESOME starting Shields and shield bonuses make up for a LOT of other semi-weaknesses.
A Hauler is definitely the way to go if you are looking for a Secondary Ship that you are just going to summon and use for extra slots, and never upgrade / expand.

So many more factors after you get experience in game and your own play style. I had to delete 3 paragraphs of in the weeds stuff.

In any case, of any type, look for 30+ initial Cargo slots in your first move-up ship.

Best advice: Avoid getting in space battles, if you can, until you KNOW you can handle them. That ain't the core of the game, anyway. If you can't avoid, run, and simultaneously summon the Anomaly and land on it. (Cancels all aggro.}

you can summon the Anomaly while in battle?
I found battles not so hard for now when there arent more than 2 ships. 3 Forces me to recharge shields and 4 is pretty extreme even with S for auto aim. Thats when solo of course.
I didnt think of using it as summon, does it cost anything? Or do I just summon, dump my inventory into it, and enter (if not despawned) my primary ship? Any disadvantages doing that?

I like the sentinel ship already a lot and can hardly imagine anything better tbh. 1400 LY jump range is a wtf compared to what i had in NEXT (600). And according to reddit it can get to 120 slots too. Fighting is bad with it, but thats okay, if I wanna pick fights, Ill focus solely on that with a right ship. Explore, speed and loot is most important for now :)

Thanks for the links!

Be very careful. You must have the repair components on your ship. The "fuel" for ship tech require dissonant specific items and some of the dissonant specific replacements found elsewhere are only found in space. Many players have damaged their ships and have been unable to leave their planet without consuming time to find an alternative escape on foot.
