im sure we will get a combat update eventually, but they can only focus on one aspect of the game at a time
I had to get it out, Arachnophobia is driving me nuts just like everyone else...
Even when it manages to permit reloading it still manages to be exceedingly annoying, even with late game tech, that monkey stays on your back.
But i did not have that much trouble with Arachnophobia,,, fairly straight forward, didn't take anything like the amount of time i spent on the fishing one, since i did not happen to know where to fish for 'anomalous' fish and fished all day on the wrong planet.
I get it but the combat IS a big part of the game already. Almost every expedition had some combat oriented task, some were all about combat. So I would think that if these problems are well known, a combat overhaul is kind of overdue...
I preferred not to use the expedition prompted pre-packaged pulse spitter as it burns through ammo so fast, despite it being powerful and it's not great against all enemy types. Specific weapons can take a little time to set up but have advantages against different types of enemies and importantly never underestimate the powerful combination of the paralysis mortar and voltaic amplifier with weapons (like the Neutron canon).
Of course any battle will be a challenge if time is not spent in preparation of upgrading and especially if trying to do it quickly early on in the expedition, under powered and under strength. But that can be a fun challenge, especially when knowing what is possible in the game to make it far easier.
If the Arachnophobia milestone is completed early on in the expedition pat yourself on the back. If completed later with all guns blazing you deserve a medal. : D
And yet, from the beginning, and to this day, there's a subset of the player base that will insist in any thread like this that "it's an exploration game, combat isn't' important". Because Hello Games is kind enough to give players who do not like combat all kinds of ways to avoid it, they've been able to pretty much convince themselves it's not even there.
I honestly have no idea if what your taking about. It the R key once, wait for the animation to complete, then start shooting again. That has never not worked.
We have had several combat updates over the years. What exactly are you wanting?
ps: if you want to scare your friends, you can do an orbital strike with your ship, just fly directly down at 90 degrees and fire the normal photon laser
Why don´t you use the minotaur? I used it and the mission was completed in a few minutes..
If there's an interactable object showing an E in your view, pressing R to reload has no effect. You have to look away to clear the object from view and then you can use the R button as normal.
I've sort of got used to it and do it automatically now, but it still shouldn't happen that way and, like JE says, it's a particular problem on derelicts where there can be so many Es in view, it's hard to find a clear spot to look at.
