Should I play this game?
I'm not very fond of tycoon games, but I've heard a lot about this game, and I heard it's good. I also want to start playing because my cousin's play it, so what is everyone's thoughts about the game?

Well, I wouldn't ever compare this game to a tycoon game. It's hard to recommend a game like this to someone you don't know but I think it's worth it.

Hard to say.

1. Do you like collecting things without a specific goal in mind? Then yes
2. Do you like very easy space combat? Then yes
3. Do you want goals in your games? Then no
4. Do you want a good narrative in your games? Then no

This game is about the same experience as collecting stamps.

I like it. If you're considering playing now would be the time since it's on sale.

The thing I like most about it is the fact I could explore the universe in this game for the rest of my life and never see it all.

And building stamp castles.

Play it if you like base building. Otherwise don't. This is mostly an aimless game where you basically just do whatever.

Yes. The game is a giant sandbox. Although, it does have different types of missions even after you finish all the story-line missions. They are kind of like MMO daily quests. Also, there are missions you can co-op for.

You don't like the game. Tell me again why you are on this forum?

I disagree. Missions have goals. They all do. You can also make goals of your own and that is not opinion or subjective, it's fact.

Didn't realize we need your permission and approval to be on this forum. I am not particularly fond of this game, why can't I be here? And what he wrote is true. I might debate on the experience of stamp collecting, but stamp collecting might be more exciting.

Look I have played this game for about 250 hours and just giving him my honest opinion. I am here because I want certain things in the game like a better story and better encounters in the game and they are the only company that frequently update the game.

You have to remember some people like collecting stamps like my grandfather. :D

I never said those not fond of the game couldn't be here. I just find it odd that someone who finds the game boring, shallow, and easy would be on a discussion board for the game. I just move on. But for some reason, people like posting how repetitive and shallow they find this game. What are they getting out of it? So I ask, why are they here?

Some people spend their idle time engaged in and with activities that they enjoy. Other people like to spend their idle time grousing and complaining about things they don't like.

Different personalities is all it is, though I do suspect the former people are much happier.

It is a very casual game but most players will get a good 100 hours out of it, even if they don't really enjoy the main game play loop of endless exploring. They have added in a lot of sideshow stuff and it is just a very beautiful game world to experience.

I would say buy it, and if you don't like it after an hour, refund it. It does not dramatically change after that hour and there is no second level. Long term, you have to be creative and set your own goals because it is a sandbox.

If you get the vibe, you can play for thousands of hours. Still worth it if you only get 50 hours.

Oh, I don't know, maybe we see potential value in the game and like for it to improve, also have a discussion about what we have found in the game? I, personally, find this game frustrating more than I find it boring. I might enjoy it a lot more if my points of frustration are addressed.
And the level of activity in this game is basically equivalent to throwing rocks or pouring water from one glass to another. Other than building a bunch of bases, there is really nothing to do here - all other activities get old very fast. Unless you actually enjoy finding iron thousand times over on every new planet you visit under a new name. The game needs more depth and some reason to play, other than the grind for sake of the grind.

It takes way more than 2 hours to get to know this game with the way it's set up. For one, you have to constantly keep waiting for stuff to happen even if you just go to a space station, it is not that rare to wait for a full 60 seconds for your ship to fly in pulse mode and you just sit there and wait. And then in the middle of your path you would get freighters just spawn in front of you and interrupt because it suddenly became "an unsafe trajectory", then you have to fly around them and re-enter the pulse so that you can finally get to that space station.
Sure, if you load up the game and dislike it immediately, then you can refund, but if you actually play it properly before you realize what kind of game it actually is, it would be too late by then.
