You cannot even use other players to assist with such a transfer because when on an expedition you only see other expedition players.
You could use the save editor to transfer them though. It allows you to 'export' pets, which you can then "import" into your normal save.
You can give an egg to someone else/an other account who started the expedition on a new save, and transfer them to your main save after the end of the expedition (so their save turns to a normal one).
Alternatively you can start the expedition again from scratch, wait for it to finish and then transfer the egg with the help of someone or an other account.
anytime you find a creature during an expo that you want to keep as a pet, you should take note of the planet glyphs, or make a base on the planet.
You can then easily revisit the location after returning to your main save to adopt a new pet
The eggs you get as rewards can be claimed from the QS trader...
Sadly, I made a base at a pet I had in the last expedition (one I had been looking for after accidentally not making a base at it last time), but when I went back the game had changed it into a different type of creature. It was one of those planets were there is only one fauna, so I can't be mistaken. My poor friend was erased.
Are you 100% sure that you didn't just find a different form of the same species?
Sometimes the males, females, and adolescents can look quite different...
I'm sure I'll find one again though. It'll be exciting when I come across one again.
You'll definitely find those again though, just a matter of time ;)
