Visit this thread for some directions to a dead biome planet that someone else found, or visit the Biome - Dead page[nomanssky.fandom.com] on the wiki to see a list of all the potential planet type names that a Dead - Biome planet can generate with.

You might also want to check the "other bases" list on teleporters to see if you can find one named something-something "Airless". I know a few people have built such bases to make your life easier at this point.

As for as how rare they are, they make up about 1 out of every 20 planets in yellow star systems in the Euclid galaxy. They are slightly less frequent in non-yellow star systems. So not all that rare, but it can still take a bit to find one. (I had to visit 17 systems before I found one).

Read the previous threads. This has been discussed ad nauseam.

Actually, all of them are. Dead biomes are the only planets that rust appears as a mineable resource as far as I'm aware.

I'm not sure what being new to the game has anything to do with taking 5 seconds to glance at the topics of the previous handful of threads or using a search bar.

It's a forum. There's a reason why threads don't just disappear once answered. The info is here to be read by people looking for the same answers that have already been answered. It's understandable when it's obscure info that's been buried for months or years, not when there's multiple threads on the first page which all have your exact same question in the f'n title.

Sometimes, a 5 second glance doesn't show anything, neither does a 15 minutes search. Calm down, dude.

It's just a shame you can't actually use that fact to locate systems with it... Rusted Metal cannot be "Located" using the catalogue and guide functionality like most other minable deposits. Otherwise, this airless planet hunt would have been so much simpler.

Yep, I think I 'try' to pin rusted metal every single time an expedition makes me hunt down an airless planet. I don't know why, but I always forget that you can't pin it.

The only reason I remember right at this moment is because I tried it just a few days ago in this expedition. :steamfacepalm:
