Inclusion of fishing into expedition.
Am I the only one annoyed to no end with that ? Doing the last expedition to get the Normandy and there it is "go get 5 uncommon fish on a arctic system". Does not bring anything, Fishing is just annoying as hell. Stand on a shore, equip lure, throw the line in water when it turn green press trigger button, repeat about 20 time, Yawn..... Boring.

28 Milestones. 11 from Polestar, 12 from Beachhead, 5 new to this Redux, including Fishing.

The nice part of expeditions is they are completely optional. If you just want the cross save rewards you can use the save game editor to get them...and the twitch rewards as well.

There are some expeditions I would never do again, mainly because they can be frustrating as hell. The Ground Hog's Day one-where you have to die and then hope you avoid dying until you reach a certain phase so you don't have to do everything over again. That was super annoying...cool idea, just horrible implementation.

I will take fishing any time over that madness.

It was slow for me until I used mealworms. Fishing is a bit boring but it was over pretty quickly. I released the fish and for some reason doing that gave me the nanites I needed for another quest.

You're not the only one...
It was an easy task, but it added nothing to the experience... except the need to do something else while I mindlessly hit cast/reel...
The fishing expo was more than enough of that, thanks...
There was/is literally no need to mash it into a redux of an expo from years before it was part of the game...

There's literally no activity in the game that one couldn't argue has "no need" to be part of an expedition milestone's goals. In that respect the only thing unique about fishing is that it's one of the newest game features.

Personally, I find the addition of fishing milestones less annoying then the whole "Float on the surface of deep water for 60 seconds" or "Stare at the stars for 60 seconds" etc. etc. that we've seen in recent expeditions.

I mean, at least you could step away entirely for those missions, get a drink/snack or go to the toilet...
The fishing ones require you to participate just enough that you have to be actively at the console/computer... but just waiting until it's time to press a button again... and let's not forget that it has entirely RNG based results...

Yah, I get why some people don't like them.

I personally am a big fan of RNG elements in video games; when things are predictable, I get bored more quickly. But I do understand that sort of thing is not everyone's cup of tea.

I don't mind the presence of rng to keep things from getting too stale, but I'd much prefer if fishing involved a skill based minigame rather being purely reliant on rng...

as i did this one and almost all other expeditions when they originally launched the rewards are not what its about, replaying them for fun i know strange concept these days is non existent with the addition of fishing at least for me

Seriously? Rage quit over a 5 minute task?

You should recognize by now that HG balances tasks that appeal to everyone.

I always hate stealing whispering eggs, but I don't complain about it. Try recognizing everyone has different opinions about which mechanics are enjoyable.

Some people don't like fighting in the game, we still have milestones that require fighting in many expeditions. Some people don't like resource gathering in the game, we still have milestones in the game that require resource gathering. I could go on, but I won't.

The point is that it is one, single milestone that doesn't take very long. Expeditions having specific milestones that a portion of the community does not like is as old as expeditions existing in the first place. This is not a unique situation.
