I only needed to make 8 jumps to discover 8 systems when I did that milestone yesterday, most likely because I first upgraded my hyperdrive and that first jump I did was large. I never needed to even refuel my hyperdrive.
Edit: I also agree with @mystikmind2005. Just using a black hole first, or even just using a portal with entirely random glyphs punched in would also likely work to get the milestone done super fast. It's what I would have done if I hadn't discovered a new system with just one max-distance jump (at which point I just did the 7 closest systems to get the milestone complete)
I looked at the portal, but i had no glyphs, and that is NOT a small job collecting them, so that options out too.
How hard is it to get that technology compared to just 'flying a little further'?
I wouldn't think you would need all the glyphs, just a couple would suffice. Someone mentioned that there were travelers at the station of first 2 expedition systems. So I think it's a realistic, and not particularly time-consuming, option if it saves an hour of trying to find undiscovered systems.
Keep in mind that black holes also have fixed destinations (now), so the blackholes nearest the expedition area aren't going to be as effective either the longer the expedition is running (as more people use those nearest black holes).
Tip 2: You should have at least one glyph which is all you need to get close the the center, if you go thru the center you will be "almost" (99.95%) guaranteed where you spawn will be undiscovered
Hm don't remember what tech that was. Other way you need to finish Atlas Path to see black holes, so.... And Polo yes.
If the game doesn't connect to community data, then any system you haven't already got data on will suffice...
After completing the mission, then you can go online again.
Dont forget, from the space anomaly you also have access to other jump points too.....
Using a Nexus mission at the anomaly is also a good way to get spit out into 'random area' in the galaxy.
If you don't have one, as mentioned above, either Apollo's black holes, or randomly entering the 2 glyphs that the travellers in the 1st two stations give in any portal, or using an anomaly base to another galaxy should yield undiscovered systems. Don't forget you can use *any* base from the anomaly, not just the community highlights. Using your personal ship with a couple of hyper-drive upgrades will make life easier as well.
Yeah, as always in NMS there is few ways to do it. Even 100Kx8 is still very small value compare to size of Euclid. Fishing was funny, almost died due to cold storm and cold water XD,
