Not really beachhead redux
I started playing the beachhead expedition and thought HG misidentified it, because I was reliving polestar. In fact, the entire first phase looked like polestar. I guess it is a 1st year rehash. Maybe they called it beachhead because of the final reward.

Yeah it's 100% a mashup of Polestar and Beachhead, with the majority of it being Polestar

Thank you both for this thread!

I wasn't planning on doing this redux because I (literally) just did the Beachhead expedition in offline mode a few weeks ago. I haven't, however, re-run Polestar in quite a while.

Looks like I will be doing this redux after all! (I like doing expeditions, so that's a good thing)

Does this mean that it is possible to obtain the Singularity engine on normal saves with the new nexus system?

Funny story. I've just started catching up on some old Exp's - did #1 and #7 in last few days and had just started #2 last night from the Leodium JSON file. Ran into the issue with the Red starter system (softlocks you because you have no hyperdrive and have to summon the freighter to you, but it has no Cadmium system ability either).
Went to bed just after putting in the fix, woke up to this news. I kind of knew it was coming but wasn't actually expecting it within 6 hours of Cursed ending.

So I've had a very recent look at Beachhead Redux 1's milestones to be able to tell they had a pretty massive overhaul for this Redux.

Since the singularity engine was added to the game it has always been possible to get one on a normal save, even before this redux. They can appear (randomly) pre-installed on freighters in the wild in the normal game.

It's relatively common even, so if you wanted one all you needed to do is locate a freighter that has one and buy it, at which point you can then repackage it and get whatever freighter you actually want to keep long term.

You can't transfer freighters, so I doubt it. Too bad, though..I really liked it. I even asked HG to add it when I saw they continued to have the Dream Aerial.

You can transfer tech modules though, and you can repackage installed tech. So any freighter tech you want to bring back to your normal save only requires that you uninstall it from the freighter when you finish the expedition, putting the repackaged tech into the transfer slots.

Good to know. I've never seen one, so I will have to do some freighter boarding now. Are they more common in a specific economy or combat system?

I honestly have no idea. It's common enough I haven't actually had to really 'hunt' to get one so I haven't ever looked into it or done any kind of research.

Wow, I had no idea that this was a thing, I have an S class freighter so this will be a good opportunity to get one without losing my ship.

If you already have a freighter you want, you will be better off with @jaggid's other comment: play the expedition from that save and bring it back. When you buy the freighter with the engine, you will lose your S freighter. It only works if you haven't already obtained your freighter "keeper."

The offline method json's are being updated to this 'new' redux version as well. I'm happy I had just re-run the old Beachhead in offline mode. Didn't know it at the time but it was a nostalgic farewell run.

Can anybody help me figure out why my Myth Beacon isn’t working planetside?

Are you at the right planet and right location on that planet?

You 'use' it from space first, which points you to a system. Then you need to go to that system and follow the icon to get to the planet location, just like a Rendezvous point (except instead of Portal at the location it is a Boundary Failure[nomanssky.fandom.com])
