Beachhead expedition Fishing
Okay, it's time for one of "those" posts. I've been to two different ice planets along the expedition route and nothing is giving me an update to the milestone, despite catching uncommon fish on them. I also keep getting weird lag/fps drops near the waters edge now, never had that happen to me before. Anyone else getting these?

Seems a total relaunch has fixed this issue. After doing said relaunch I started getting credit AND the lag ceased. Very odd.

Update: Restart fixed your lag

No but it took me about 15 or 17 "catches" before I completed it.

The planet in the Rendezvous TWO system (Suurazumi) -> Aaki 52/U4 has fish and it has a base named "fish!"

None of my uncommon fish are registering for the mission. I shut down and relaunched everything, including Steam, but the 3 I caught so far are still not registering. It's showing 0/5.

Yeah some of the uncommon don't register, for me the only ones that counted were the uncommon clam and a mollusk, all the fish were, and forgive the turn of phrase....red herrings.

The requirement is they must be Uncommon (or rarer) Cold-habitat fish.

In every biome, there are 42 types of fish that can be caught. 21 are specific to that biome, 21 can be caught in all biomes. None of the "all biome" fish will count.

Of the 21 Cold fish varieties, 7 are "common", leaving 14/42 possibilities for Uncommon or rarer.
Nautilia
Iceblood Gulper
Ghostfin (nocturnal)
Crystal Jelly
Black-Eyed Shark
Frostbite Ray
Iceshell Turtle (during storms only)
Rimescale Snapper
Giant Icefin
Frozen Knifejaw
Brineskipper
Pale Snowtail (during storms only)
Frozen Isopod
Frostshell Clam
That's it. You solved it. They were uncommon, but not specifically cold.

I went to a base called "Frizzen Fishing Hole" that allowed me to fish indoors.

It was in the system with the tiny planet that someone added AIRLESS to the name.

Oh jesus...so its NOT JUST they have to be a rarer (uncommon) fish, but also a rare variety frozen/cold fish? Seriously? UGH! this is going to take even longer. I've caught 5 uncommon fish the last hour and not one counted because they aren't "cold fish"... :steamfacepalm:

One of the baits I think gives you a higher chance at the specific biome type fish. In the previous fishing expedition, I think fishing at a +50 depth was a higher chance as well compared to shallow waters.

Toss a couple of sweaters into the sea and see which ones go for them, I'll bet my antimatter those're the cold ones!

I used Carbon that had in my inventory

I ended up using the basic mealworm bait I think is what it is called. I landed on a deep ocean and fished from the top of the ship(the depth was 65 in this spot and there was a blizzard during part of it). It took about 10-15 minutes and I think I got 3 common fish, and about 15 or so uncommon of which 5 were cold type. The first 4 came rather quick and the last one took a bit longer.
