Cool... the other consideration is mining speed, specifically for runnaway mould.... however in my current game i do not really need to mine anymore, but for future reference?
Ok, thats handy, thanks.
So, looks like i should change to my staff for combat and focus my sentinal on mining and scanning.
The royal looks good for scanning and mining, but does it really do better on mining when the sentinal multitool has that special mining laser??
I thought it does better when attacking with the mining laser. Not mining. That mod has a base damage bonus. When looking for the best base damage, I save, delete all mods, upgrade to S class, note base damage... reload.
That mining mod can not be deleted, so I never got the base damage quite right.
You see, the Sentinel Tool ,from the Bug Killer Expedition did not have that mod.... I wanted a weapon just as good as the one from that expedition.... ramble... ramble...
Sorry, i did not quite understand what you are saying here?
Oh i think i heard that somewhere before now that you mention it, thanks.
What i'm trying to do, is work out the best 2 multitools i will keep, and what their specializations will be.
I might switch to my staff as the primary, put the 3 supercharged slots that are together on weapon, and the supercharged slot off by itself i will put on the bonus resources tech for mining.
My secondary sentinel multitool (currently my primary) has 2 supercharged slots together and a third offset by 1 square gap. I might set those up with a plasma launcher? Although, the problem is, whenever i pull that weapon out, its a question of how many minutes can i make it without killing myself?? lol, Its going to happen, simple, inevitable fact.
Perhaps i should get a royal as a secondary multitool, and set it up for scanning? Could be useful during nexus missions and expeditions?
If I used a variety of weapons I would have multiple combat multi-tools. I used to have a few sentinel multi-tools for that very reason, but I scrapped them a few weeks ago because I simply was never using them.
I also setup an atlantid for mining a few weeks ago because so many people here were saying they are better for mining, but after getting out a stop watch and timing the clear rate at a large curious mould patch to compare it to my mining staff, I scrapped the atlantid as well.
For a while I was using the Atlas staff for both combat and mining, but I really wanted to use all 4 supercharge slots for combat efficacy and not having at least the Optical Drill supercharged on a mining multi-tool didn't seem too smart.
My Atlas staff doesn't have all 4 supercharged slots together...so I could do better if I found a really good sentinel supercharge layout, but I'm partial to the aesthetics of the staff.
Now I just use the Atlas Scepter as my main, and have different weapon combinations on other MTs.
Afaik, the reason people say atlantids are good for mining is because you can install the regular mining beam along with the unique version, but this is also true for the sentinel weapons and atlas scepter...
Well, in my current game i got 583000 nanites and nothing much to spend it on, so, i don't need a mining capability, but even so, my two main bases are set up on runnaway mould, so, i usually mine that whenever i am passing buy, and its nice to see them pop super fast... or observe how pathetically slow they get mined (if at all) because i forgot i picked up a multitool in my travels.
Also i did find a very nice natural S class atlantid multitool a while back, but my excitement was short lived once i kitted it out.... USELESS.
While my sentinal weapon has 21000 damage. i got 24000 with the staff.
But the mining speed with the staff was BAD.... exact same equipment transferred, but it was much much slower mining runnaway mould
Runic lens is missing, why is it missing?
Is it the components i used to build the staff? I did notice a total pathetic lack of information on staff components when i was choosing the parts, so i just had to go off looks alone.
