oh man, there's those Exotic/Royal types, the two types of Sentinel tools in the Harmonic Camps on Dissonant planets, Atlantid types, the Voltaic Staff and Atlas Sceptre that have been added over the last couple of years. That's a Royal type multi-tool. They were added in the Sentinel update in February of 2022.

Royals have been around quite a while now... (longer than I've been playing anyway) I'm not sure exactly when they were added, but at least since Echos according to the wiki...

Afaik, they only appear at sentinel pillars though

Design wise, they only vary in colour

The code for Royal tool class was added as early as 2017 (Ref[nomanssky.fandom.com]), probably with Pathfinders' Multi-tool Specialisation & Classes[nomanssky.fandom.com] update, but AFAIK, the tool itself didn't make an appearance until the Sentinel update in Feb 2022.

I've seen a few from ancient temples. I can't find them anymore with the cylindrical thing ruin thing poping out when pressing E to show the mulitool claim dialog. Either I am blind.

I have only ever seen them at the sentinel pillars, but it is rare to find one that is S class. I quit checking the pillars because I always get a c class offering. The weapons remind me of the ones from The Martian Chronicles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Martian_Chronicles_(miniseries)

I got really stupidly lucky. I wasn't even looking for one, just had a mission to hack a pillar from the nexus because I needed a quick frigate module.

Is that not how you get Atlantid weapons?
I've never seen a Royal anywhere but at pillars, nor anything but an Atlantid at a temple...

Here's an S-Class Royal MT that I found during Omega with glyphs and on-planet coords.
jkthemc A/K/A Pharoah then found all the color variants available with save /reload on each planet in the system. (OP, if you go to where you found that one on another save, you could potentially find other color combos similar to the Royal ships by save/reload on each planet/the station.)

I've never seen a Royal MT anywhere other than a Sentinel pillar, although pillars do have crappy pistols and rifles more often.
