Hotspot Scans don't save?
So a few days ago I scan a bunch of hotspots to find an area for a base. I saw some promising spots along the way but because the view finder only shows Mining/Gas hotspot at a distance and not the ore type I figured I've have to back track them real quick.

Sadly since it was just a few minutes from my temp base on the planet I figured it's be easy to find the area again as I had a bunch of scans. When I came back a few days later I could not find any of the previous hotspot scans showing up and was fairly curtain I was in the right away but figured it was maybe just my bad sense of direction.

So last night I did a bunch of scanning again and found a good spot between some deposits. This time I setup the base computer and a few items. Then setup power at the electro hotspot so my future base would be powered and called it a night.

When I login today and pull out my scanner to head out to one of the deposits to setup drills only to see that NONE of the hotspots are showing up on scans, even the electro one I setup earlier. My buildings are all still there but I gotta run around scanning for hotspots again to try and find them all.

Nothing saves in this game, example you highlight copper 350 units away, you get distracted by something on the way, chances are that copper deposit is no longer highlighted, you have to fight this game, put down a save beacon anywhere you want to return to

I'm not sure what the OP is describing because I've never had a problem with flagging a hotspot and coming back to it later. Its always where I expect it.

you usually only need 1 hotspot, put down many power terminals if you like and Y them together, but one hotspot would power any 10 normal bases with only 2 or 3 towers.

I had a rough idea of where the hotspots were from base and they are still there. It's just I have to scan them again. So instead of seeing the orange hotspots showing up in the scanner there is nothing and I have to go scan them again.

The multiple hotspots are not all electro ones. I got the 3 Ores on the planet, 2 Gass, AND the Electro. I put up the power one last night and was going to start on the mining ones today but the Orange Icons showing previously scan hotspots were all missing.

Another odd thing I noticed was at each spot easier to spot was I put down communications station. But when I logged in today they were also all gone. The power towers I built for the base are all still there and base has lots of power though no machines to use it right now. So I know I didn't revert to an old save or anything odd like that. But I thought communication stations were suppose to stay ones placed.

Also why dont my communication stations show up from a distance with the little ... in chat bubble like I see other peoples? I was really hopping for that so I could just see the distance of spots without needing to use the visor when trying to find the middle point.

Drop save beacons.

lolroflmaobbq

I think I've probably used like 8 towers + a bunch of solar and batteries for a single base, but the base wasn't really all that big an effort.

When you find a hotspot you like, drop a save beacon.
