Why is my screen clustered with icons from other players structures???? (expiditon)
So I love this game but.....

Is there a way to filter icons? Especially icons that show other players structures?
The whole time in expedition my screen is clustered with dozens of icons from other players... Either when apporaching a planet, flying over it or using the scanner...

Standing on some planets in the expidition and using the scanner to find ressources is so annoying because everything is full with these icons (base computer, save signal....)

Why do I need to know every base in 1000km distance that people have built???? Why do I need tro see every save signal???

Some filters would be welcome, but they do not currently exist in game.

HOnestly such a low and stupid design decision. So cheap............. No filters okay but dont clutter my screen with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pls...

Expeditions mode is specifically designed for MP players. If being in a crowded player icon region bothers you, best to not play in that mode...or get it over with quickly. For better or worse, the expeditions are pretty short and can be completed in a very quick time frame (typically 10 hours or less).

I always play them in SP mode and it helps remove a lot, but not all, of the player clutter. Best to stick with the standard and non-episodic modes if Expeditions mode really bugs you.

A way of flitering out the clutter would be nice, but unlikely since it would be similar to saying " I like capitalism, just not all the advertising."

They are not Just in Expedition, They are Available in Single Player Mode in areas where you Cross Paths with MP Mode. EGG Mission Planets are Loaded with them. Places I go from Nexus Missions have tons of them.

Nexus is geared toward MP. If you want to play NMS and never see another player base or save beacon, that's easy to accomplish. Its a big galaxy.

With "them" do you mean expedition mode? Expedition can be played in singleplayer? How?

I like the expedition but all those icons are just meh... Encountering people is also nice but reducing thir pop up appearance to like 100km (whatever units that is^^) would be so much better. ;)

Okay thanks for the answers, gonna try to travel a bit aside the expedition route.

Does anyone know if there are mods for this? I will try to find some

on side question for a noob: what exactly can I do with other players or how can I benefit from them? I see their bases but what do they offer? They are mostly empty?

Sry im still pretty new to the expedition

I don't know of a single aspect of expeditions or nexus missions that makes them intended for multiplayer. Other than the problem that the OP describes, they play just fine in single player, and the fix should not be difficult.

Suggesting that a large portion of game content be tossed aside just because it's "intended for MP" is not a satisfying answer IMO.

Other player bases will offer resources to help you on the expedition. Either direct help with milestones or indirect help with stuff you need. The trick is finding the good ones. After 4 of these expeditions, I know the names that will have something useful in their base.

I suppose we could debate whether that's an intended part of the game mode or not, but it's certainly not necessary, and anyone should be free to toggle the icons on if they want to take advantage of that.

The fun of the game, especially the expeditions, is figuring it out and finding stuff. These things that you mention are essentially spoilers that cheat you out of interesting game-play, unless you're the sort of person that sees an expedition as 4 hrs of wasted time to get a ride on a worm.

Interesting gameplay like finding a crashed ship? Or maybe its entering a Trading Post that's interesting for you? I have fun with expeditions as a whole (and I take my time) but not every milestone is fun and interesting.

I personally like visiting other player bases. There are some very creative players out there. The players that are providing help usually do a good job of appropriately naming the base in a way that helps identify it. Sure there are a few trolls that try to put traps in them, but now that you can report the base and it disappears, those are fun also.

I'm not into the grindy milestones, if other players bases reduce that grinding. I thankful for the help.

Totally agree! A noob can learn something from the grindy milestones, but when you already have 1500+ hrs, I appreciate the helpful players that enable me to check those boxes and move on to the more interesting and unique milestones. E4 had plenty of both.
