Interwoven Structures

I'm new to the game and found some parts to be very frustrating, there's a general lack of instruction. At least things aren't obvious to me anyway. I'm doing the Interwoven Structures mission for the Korvak, this entails finding 3 keys then digging up a chest and unlocking with the keys, presumably. Trouble is, I can't find the chest anywhere, I've searched almost the entire planet. I have the keys, but the log says 'use the terrain manipulator to excavate ancient dig sites'. Fine, but where the hell are these dig sites??? Nothing shows up on my scanner, can anyone help please?

It should be right there where you dig up the keys. 'Artifact crate' or such.

Thanks for responding. I didn't see anything, I'm pretty sure I checked everywhere nearby, I'm a long way from where that was now, so I guess 'Abandon Mission' is the only option.

There are several keys from my experience, but only one ancient artifact crate. So I always had to keep scanning around until I spotted it. For me at least it has always been somewhat near the square-ish building, but should be somewhere within the landing area. GL.

i take the easy way out and load up my silicon dust at the same time by completely stripping all the dirt from around the buried buildings using the terrain flattening tool... then i just jump around to all the chests to get all the keys (generally 6) and then the artifact chest... that gives me a load of silicon for whatever i need it for as well as 3 extra keys for whatever later on...

Scanning for the chest sometimes puts you far away from the chest. Evne when you go to the location.
Unless this is different than the normal artifact things.

This is the mission with the ruins and the buried crate? The crate is always under the ruins where there's an archway.

Use the terrain scanner (F), there are 6 keys nearby. The crate itself can always be found just in front of the ramp. The best way to spot is is actually to stand on the top of that ramp and look down. I hope that helps, good luck!

If those missions were more random, they would need to provide some help. Unfortunately, they are always exactly the same.

Land near the half buried building. Dig up the key in the round entrance facing away from the site Look to your left and dig up the next one a short walk. As you come out of the hole, look back toward the building and third is a short way beyond it.

Again, as you come out of the hole, the treasure chest will be toward the middle of the site. You may have to dig slightly around some structure to reach it from that direction. Take less than five minutes and it never changes.
