find portal runes or use hyperdrive?
i'm on the last living ship quest, but it turns out i've only found two glyphs in my whole playtime. so i can't use the portal. would it be faster to try and find all the other glyphs or follow the quest trail in the galaxy map?

You can get all the glyphs by using portals in the first galaxy. There is a thread "playing without every base building" which you can google which contains an ordered list of available systems, accesible with limited glyphs, containing graves. I marked each grave with a communication beacon long ago so it might be easy to find them again, no idea if those still work. Also, the recent updates seem to have changed the critters on every planet, even discovered ones, but the graves seem to all be in the same locations. here is the link.

I had the same problem, just travel to different systems looking for travelers on the stations, pay them nanites to find where they came from to learn a new glyph do that enough times to get all the glyphs you need.

I would suggest checking the space stations as suggested above, while following the quest trail.
You might get to the end before you find all the glyphs.

And be sure not to use any black holes along the way - they are very likely to put you further away from your destination because of the way they work.

What I did in my Survival and PD saves was once I made contact with a Traveler on a space station and got the location of the grave, I would go to the grave and place a save beacon near the crater rim, and a base computer just over 300 U away. Collect the glyph and warp out of the system. Save, reload, teleport back. I didn't keep track if there is a game time delay, but I was able to milk 3-4 glyphs from each grave this way. Once it dries up, pick up the beacon and delete the BC (unless you plan to keep a base there) and move on to your next find.

I acquired all 16 glyphs in PD with six graves doing this. The first grave only yielded one, but I placed the BC less than 300 U away. Not sure if that is causation, but with the second grave and on I kept the BC over 300 U away and was able to milk it. GL

You can get a glyph at each new station you visit, 16 jumps and you have all the glyphs....

Check on top of your galaxy map when you set point to another star system, see how little difference it makes on the counter even if you seem to jump far. It takes way too long warping from star system to star system
