Since it can't be found in the wild I would hazard to guess a case of reverse-pickpocketing.
I understand 'gifting' a small quantity of something you want more of but are too lazy to collect yourself is a crucial part of the duplication process. No idea how it works; the guilty party usually disappears a few seconds later leaving the lucky bystander with... some stuff.
You could throw a custard pie at 'em if you were quick but that's probably a waste of time!

Lumpin Doughnut + Stellar Custard.
You can make some ridiculous money with a good milk farm and plenty of chromatic metal.
frost crystals to make the flour, cactus flesh for the sugar, chromatic metal for the silicon eggs, and a nice sized milk farm to make the oil and cream. I usually use 8 nutrient processors at at a time.... Then profit :D

Yeah, it is. I mean you could add another so you don't have to empty as often, but I find one is enough.
Is fresh milk better for the recipes than wild milk?
Milk is Milk. Some of the sources may seem a little suspect but t'is all the same to Cronus when it's baked in a pie. You can't even use it neat - it has to be turned into cream first.
