As to inventory sorting, NMS IS an indie game, and apparently they do not wish to add inventory sorting or it has not been requested enough. You can make a suggestion at the same page above, if you like.
Worst that has happened to me this update was I plunked a save beacon down in a manufacturing facility in case I got the wrong guess, and when I went to load, I spawned under the ground, stuck inside the building's walls and floor.
Thankfully I could still load the autosave which was saved a bit earlier when I first entered the atmosphere.
Never did find that stupid manufacturing plant again. Oh well. Better than having a borked save.
Also, lesson learned, place the save point on the ground OUTSIDE the building next time.
Hard to say how to help you without any details about what you are running, other programs like OBS that might be running in the background, and specifics about if it happens rarely, every time, or whatever the case may be.
It is safe to assume it is something only you can correct and not really a game issue.
That has never happened to me, either. I have an internet browser (Opera) with at least a dozen tabs open at all times, and I always have VLC Player playing music while I play this game. (The game's music is nice; I just got tired of it.) I always have a spreadsheet open, too; it's my huge and ever-growing data collection spreadsheet for NMS because I'm a statistics nerd. Usually there's other stuff like an Photoshop or Illustrator running, too, because I forget to close it. I do have a lot of RAM (64GB), so maybe that makes a difference?
I dunno, I always see all these complaints about hanging and crashing and lagging and stuttering, yadda yadda, and I sit here and wonder why I experience none of it, even though I'm running on old hardware on an old machine that isn't even maintained as well as it should be, given that the house is full of parrot feather dust despite multiple air filters.
I never had this problem years ago, but as the game got bigger and better, it happened more and more.
As a pc user, I chose to upgrade my gfx card (for other reasons), but since the upgrade, i've not had the warp/teleport problem happen at all - could be co-incidence, but i'm very happy with this outcome.
Upgraded from 1060 3gb to 4060 8gb, if that info helps.
If you're a console user, sorry i can't help further, but we clearly had a similar problem.
my system is
i9 13900k
RTX 4090
32 gb ram
2 x 4gb WD SN850X
so its not a system capability issue but rather a bug.
I have over 700 hours on my current save and lost my home base and settlement paradise planet for a mucky halloween swamp planet. we have over 30 bases and 20 settlements on this planet community and its crap now.
I have many hours invested in my base and will now have to abandon it or dissemble. I have already found other paradise planets but the community we had built up will be gone. I can only imagine the frustration of some builders of the spectacular bases in NMS that now reside on totally different planets.
I also lost any ability to get into discovery/options menu. no key can be bound that will work. i have to go onto my frieighter and use a planetary probe to get into options to quit the game.
i had just gotten back into the game to do the adrift expedition and was looking forward to this update and the hell divers bug expedition. to say i am disappointed is an understatement. i will not go into a discussion of you should know this will happen. I have enough hours in this game to understand. Sh** happens, I am just stepping away for other games unitl these bugs are worked out.
I haven't even tried to load this game up lately, but maybe it wouldn't even work properly.
It's changed a lot.
Sorry to hear about the bugs, OP.
Expeditions are a cool feature in this game, but it's slightly confusing at times.
Plus, you know, the stuff on that save can't be put on your other main save.
So, you keep starting new games basically.
Either it's done warping / loading within 3 minutes or it's force-quit the client and restart.
Maybe a tiny bit more.
But it almost always loaded then.
What is P bound to in the game?
I don't recall that ever being a key I used playing this game.
The warping is done via the mouse holding onto a system to warp to.
