What specs can run this flawlessly
I've been struggling with the games constant stutter on a decent system for years now, so I'm just asking, for the people who've not had any issues, what specs are you using to have NO frame drops, NO stuttering or hitching etc and consistant 60 fps. is it even possible?

I play NMS always in experimental mode with absolute no issues

My laptop :
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
32 GB RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz (8 CPUs),
NVIDIA GTX980m (Laptop)
Can only play with version 446.14 ... all otherdriver give me a slideshow
256 SSD for Windows and some tools
1TB SSD for gaming

My Desktop :
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processo, 3.70 GHz
RTX 3070 Ti
32.0 GB RAM
2TB SSD
Win11 Home 64 bit

I went from rtx 2060 to 16gb 4060ti...

Alot of games got a nice jump, or just ran so much better. Such a nice upgrade...

Then... theirs NMS... I think turned one-wto setting from High, up one more.. and it ran bad.
Took abit of tweaking to get improvements in Setting.
On one hand, part of its game engine limits on what it can display. Which they've been bring up to date.

Some setting like shadows I turned down. And I get no Stutter. Some of setting I try tweak up... game does not like that, Not one bit.

Few of effects which load terrain that I have turned down, or off which have helped TONS.

Its NMS.. it doesn't need to be on Ultra for me, I got it good enough to run with out a stutter. Skip/Jumping about map, doesn't lag, but nothing loads in fast enough as I move about. XD

The game ran well on my old computer, but a bit better graphics and speed on my new rig. To some degree, the server speed and quantity of calls can make a difference, so not sure it is ever possible to run the game without minor slow downs in rendering.

Ryzen 5 5600G, RTX3050, SATA SSD, 1440p (which is native) borderless window, "High" settings across the board in graphics options.

The only time I see hitching is when entering or exiting an atmosphere and the occasional sudden pop-in of lots of stuff (doesn't happen very often).

Same I thought it was my Mods but I removed them and it's still stutters like The Water Boy.

Also, background apps can also play a role if you have good enough specs, you can still see a loss in performance if you're running a bunch of crap in the background. Typically when I game, I only have Steam and Discord open, and occasionally a web browser, but nothing else.

This is even moreso if you are running a prebuilt PC (one you didn't build yourself) or a laptop as they oftentimes come absolutely loaded with bloatware that you probably didn't even know you were running.

I wouldn't say at a constant 60 FPS, and there is the 1/2 second load when entering space or when spinning quickly, but I have had no issues.

Settings: 1920x1080, V-Sync - Off, 60 FPS, Motion Blur - 0, Vignette & Scanlines - Disabled, Ultra graphic settings, Anisotropic - 8, GTAO - Ultra, Anti Aliasing set to "Fidelity FSR 2.0," FSR 2.0 Quality - 'Balanced.'

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
AMD Ryzen 5 7600
32.0 GB RAM
1 TB M.2 2280 Drive
AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT
i solved this issue just by changing the processor to focus second plain processes

how did you do that?

I'm on Ryzen 7 5800x3d, 32gb RAM, RTX4080, Windows 11 and all settings ultra. Locked at 100fps.

All silky smooth and CPU/GFX temps sit around 45C.

Runs flawlessly on my system as do all the games I play.

I'm not struggling running it but I am in finding the updated galactic trade terminal in the new space station layouts...

The Trade Terminal is always in the center, bottom floor on the left if you come from the docks.

Every space station has two floors, and it works like this when looking at it from the docks:

A - B ---- C - D
----E----F-----

A = Exosuit
B = Multitool
C= Starship
D= Exocraft
E = Trade Terminal
F = Teleporter

(I might have C and D backwards)

Also there are icons on the wall as you look at the area from the docks.

Asking the same lol.

OP, you should specify what resolution when asking this question.

I'm running 1080p at 60Hz, flawlessly, with everything set to Ultra except shadows and post-processing, which are set one notch less at High.

Intel i7-4790k
32 GB DDR3
Windows 10, fully updated
RTX 3060 TI
Samsung SATA SSD

Make sure "Vulkan Present Method" is set to "Prefer Native" in the Nvidia settings. It stutters pretty bad for me if it's set to "Layered on DXGI Swap Chain" (which for some reason it gets set back to every time I update the driver). Another thing that helps reduce stuttering for me, on the "Advanced" tab in Windows Performance options, set it to "Background Services" (you can set it back to "Programs" after you finish playing). NMS seems to run much smoother when background services are prioritized.

My 13yo I7 2600k played it ok but not perfect. But was paired with my RTX 4080. I'd say go with 12400 or better for Intel. AMD i got no idea. GPU really depends on Resolution. Nvidia RTX 4070 Super should be good for 2k Ultra. Again no idea about AMD and I certainly can't suggest an Intel gpu. Below is what i get at 4k. If you use a 144hz monitor i'd suggest DLSS Balanced or switch to 2560x1440 DLSS Quality.

And just to show gpu and cpu usage at 60hz which i play at as below. Vsync On
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3294378559
Note latency stupid high as above when using any vsync setting in game or via nvidia control panel. I'd suggest just using framerate limiter and no VSync as below.

Also for me changing performance to background services has no effect and never has. Note i even recently tested this. Also changing the Vulkan/OpenGL swap method makes no difference on my puter. Using WIn11 here and with my system I can't use HPET. If it's enabled all games are a slide show so f knows. Please don't disable it like me. Modern cpu should not have it disabled. No idea why mine is fubar. Each system can be very unique. It's worth trying almost any setting imo. What works for some may not work for others.

Note that MSI Afterburner which i use doesn't get along with some games especially Vulkan ones. And along with Steam overlay which i also have On can present issues as well. Disabling one or the other or both can solve many problems. I try to set up all my games to work with both overlays On.

Also note there is no perfect system. There will be slight hitches here and there at best. When going from planet to space via ship for example. I swear it's reduced though. Last 2 or so major Updates seemed to help with that.
