The warp screen is a massive problem, i spend a lot of time warping and it's way too bright it burns the eyes, we should be able to tone that down for health reasons, i have to shut my eyes or turn away every time
wtf? i thought that was a great feature, in fact GAMMA should be a permanent feature in the Accessibility options
Based on community discussions, it appears that some players experience the gamma setting in No Man’s Sky as too bright, leading to an unpleasant visual experience. Here are some key points:
Gamma setting ineffective: Several players have reported that adjusting the gamma setting in the game’s graphics options does not have a noticeable impact on the brightness.
TV brightness adjustments necessary: Some players have to adjust their TV’s brightness settings every time they play No Man’s Sky to achieve a comfortable viewing experience.
Alternative solutions: Changing the game’s rendering mode from “Fullscreen” to “Borderless” has been reported to improve color vibrancy and definition for some players.
Additionally, disabling features like DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) or AMD’s Radeon Image Sharpening may also help alleviate brightness issues.
Texture and detail-related brightness: Some players have noted that the game’s use of solid white textures and lack of detailed textures can contribute to an overly bright appearance. This may be a factor in the perceived brightness issues.
Keep in mind that these findings are based on community discussions and may not apply to every player’s experience. If you’re experiencing issues with brightness in No Man’s Sky, you may want to experiment with different rendering modes, disable additional graphics features, or adjust your TV settings to find a comfortable viewing experience.
Why are they being so difficult on this front? it's a health issue that needs to be addressed, this is not a competitive FPS game, there is no need to take control away from the user?....this is an accessibility/ health issue, can we have GAMMA control please Devs??... this game is migraine city, i don't have this problem with any other title, and some of those titles are competitive FPS games with no gamma, they just don't overly use white textures....and not only that the game doesn't look good it would look far better if we had ACTUAL night times and dark caves where torches are necessary, i never use the torch, there's just no need to it's so damn bright, it would look so much better if the user could tailor the gamma to suit his heath and monitor/ GPU settings
Not in any way helpful to the matter at hand.
However... It's not "gamma" and I haven't experimented with it to see if it's active but...
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS
Open TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS in notepad
Find the line; <Property name="Brightness" value="60" />
Looks like it's set to "60" as a default?
As i've said in many posts... ALL game devs should put as many slider and On/Off controls for as many GFX settings as possible (leaving out any that might somehow make the game engine unstable).
