I do, yes. Set specifically to NMS. Maybe I should try setting it globally?

Oops, I lied, it's not fixed :(
I've tried this for a few minutes and it might have actually fixed it! Thank you!
I have tried that before, but not with the Nvidia setting Musashi suggested, will do that now!
The problem was in the BIOS, specifically the XMP profile of my RAM. Do you know anything about this and can you tell us whether your XMP profile is set correctly or whether it's set to "auto"?
I'm only having this issue with NMS unfortunately :/ And my XMP is set properly, yes! I'll double check when I next restart my PC just to be sure, but it shouldn't have changed since I set it when I bought everything :)
ok, because on the PC I bought, the RAM was set to DDR5-5600 in the BIOS, but I have DDR5-6000. After I changed that, these specific FPS drops disappeared.
for those that do not know, Kitt is Knight Rider's 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am... "Knight Rider" is one of David Hasselhoff's well known TV shows... another was "Bay Watch"...
