What realism did it have before this update.
Plotwise, NMS isn't even supposed to be realistic anyway, because the entire universe is just a simulation running inside the mind of ATLAS. Everything you experience is just the fever dream of a dying machine.
Moving away from realism?? LOL !! You have got to be kidding. NMS has never been 'realistic', but full of weird and wonderful animals, plants and planets. Hardly things that you could call realistic. So I really cannot see your point.
Just kidding, of course I like floating islands. They are as realistic as everything else in the game.
...not saying that's bad or anything its cool, but rather the idea that people ever considered this game as "realistic" or "accurate scifi" is just funny - it's not supposed to be lol. If you want realism go try Star Citizen or Elite: Dangerous.
